I don't know, maybe I'm just over thinking things like usual. I haven't read the comics at all, but I've been spoiled for a couple of things (my fault, I went looking). I just don't like the look of where things are headed. And of course it doesn't help that I'm still bitter about what happened at the end of season 3.. not that it matters, since I don't have the self control to stop watching even if I actually start to dislike it!
