Happy birthday baby
Fleming’s Steakhouse is one of many places to dine at LA Live next to The Staples Center. #GlitteratiToursLA
Since the bloodwork and the ultrasound all came back normal, I'm left to conclude that I got glutened at Flemings. Just one more reason on the pile not to go back there.
Flemings Steakhouse
Last night was a fining dining experience and another reason I don't have any pictures. We went out to dinner at Flemings Steakhouse and Wine Bar last night with three other couples. I am not a huge steak fan, I'm slightly frugal, but I love seafood. I stared at the menu for quite awhile trying to balance all the thoughts in my head of what to pick. Ryan and I started with a seared ahi tuna which was served on a fresh vegetable salad with a spicy mustard. The "fresh vegetable salad" was just a stack of garnish and should not be given such a title. The spicy mustard sure gave you a quick kick and was delicious with the tuna. I did learn I'm not an end piece girl, which I wasn't surprised because I feel the same way about loafs of bread. My main course was Alaskan rock petrale sole with a description below of crab beignets, lemon butter sauce. My first mistake was not clarifying with our server exactly what this dish was. I read crab and thought I was getting crab. Oh was I wrong. A big plate of fish came out and placed before me. Now I sat there contemplating my next move. Either suck it up and eat it. Or be a snotty brat saying "this is not what I ordered! I want xyz!" or ask our server for a side of the Gorgonzola cream sauce which makes anything taste better. I went with option three. I did sit there slightly upset at myself for my poor ordering. It's an awful and unpleasant feeling. The only way I overcame my sadness was sitting next to the birthday girl and her offering me a bite of her molten chocolate cake. Luckily I calmed down a bit and came back to taste bud heaven! Thanks Deb! Reminder to self: don't be afraid to clarify what a dish is because otherwise you will be grumpy girl.
