Meet the Snoggie!

(inspired by @pileofslop's TF2 mammals)

Snoggies are large, predatory proto-mammals known for their exceptional intelligence and mimicry abilities. Despite having an overall reptilian appearance, Snoggies are actually synapsids, making them more closely related to us than true reptiles! They are also a direct, albeit extremely distant, ancestor of the Perriers.

True Snoggies are extinct in the wild, having been wiped out by human competition a few thousand years ago. The domestic Snoggy is much smaller than its extinct wild counterpart, and is also much friendlier! They're known to form tight bonds with other creatures, especially Giners, and will become fiercely protective of their chosen partner.

Snoggies are not a companion for beginners. While relatively low maintenance, they still have strong predatory instincts and need to consume over twice their own body weight in meat every week. Their ability to change the color and texture of their skin means they can easily hide from their keepers. It's like keeping a cuttlefish that has legs and knows English. Those just getting into Snoggy husbandry are often unaware of their vocal mimicry abilities, and there are thousands of recorded instances of new Snoggy keepers woken up in the dead of night to their Snoggy screaming in their keeper's own voice. You learn to live with it... eventually.

A spooky variant of Dell, he comes from a timeline in which his relationship with Sonny is INCREDIBLY toxic. This Dell is feverishly devoted to Sonny, less like a lover and more like a cultist. They feed off of each other. Literally. Turns out, consuming large amounts of mimic blood is not good for your health! Mimic DNA is identical to humans, and when consumed in large quantities, it can start tricking the consumer's body into believing it too is a mimic, causing all sorts of mutations. Unfortunately, the human body isn't as... flexible. His body is slowly breaking down and tearing itself apart from the inside out, but he doesn't care. He'll do whatever it takes to please his lover. His god.

We got a fleshmachine shipchild!

Their name is Desk, they're the oldest out of Sonny and Dell's clutch of six. They try to look as human as possible, but are only able to look like a mannequin. It's a routine flaw that mimics can't replicate human features, but given that Desk is about 1/3 human, they can get closer to a true humanoid appearance than a full-blooded mimic like Sonny.

They end up working for Ms. Pauling post-Gravel War! Easy to get rid of bodies when you have an intern who's a living meatgrinder.

i was just thinking this because there’s a phone number my place of an employment offers if you want to talk to someone and i can’t bring myself to it because thinking about talking to someone about my issues on the phone makes me feel gross
