I’m really sorry :( I lost my dog in October, I found that putting an extra pillow or folded on the bed blanket where he slept helps me get some sleep at night. It seems crazy to pretend they’re still there but it feels better then accepting they’re not. I hope things get better soon
Thank you, that’s a good idea. I put my desk chair in that spot so it doesn’t look completely empty and I think it helped a little. It’s become a habit to look in the corner whenever I enter the room to check on her (she was deaf, blind, and had dementia) and it’s going to take some time to break it. Yesterday was probably going to be one of the hardest because it was the first full day without her. I’d have a much harder time getting through this if I didn’t have my other dog. He’s getting smothered with extra love right now.
I’m really sorry to hear about your dog. I hope it’s getting better for you. Losing a pet is always hard.
