Hi! Just wondering what you use to make your gifs? They are always so clear and mine never come out that clear even when the video is in hd. Thanks!

There’s two of us on this blog and we both post our edits (you can see María’s edits here and Eliza’s here), so we thought we both could share some tips :)
For making gifs I use Photoshop CS5. I think the most important thing is the video quality and sometimes even if it says it’s in HD or 720p or 1080p it’s not, the easiest way to tell would be to check the size of the file, usually the bigger the better. Sharpening is also important, for my gifs I use this action, but I changed first smart sharpen radius setting to 0,3 and I keep the opacity between 55-65% (depending on the gif). You can also try playing with your colouring, adding brightness and contrast (using levels, curves or brightness/contrast option) should make it look more crisp and clear. I hope it helps! :) - Eliza
I don’t have much to add to this! I use Photoshop CS5 as well :) And, for taking screencaps, I use KMPLayer. I agree with Eliza, using footage with quality makes all the difference in the result, so if you can use 720p or, even better, 1080p, that will certainly improve the look of the gif :) - Maria
