How do you heat your AP enclosures? I apologize if you've already answered this!

Hello and I have not answered this yet!I elected to add the FlexWatt option while ordering my AP cages. The FlexWatt gets taped to the bottom of the cage and there’s a routed channel for a heat probe right where the heat tape goes.There are also routed channels to allow for a little air flow in case you choose to stack cages. As long as you’re using a reliable thermostat, the heat tape should be perfectly safe even with a stacked setup.

Can heat tape be used like an under tank heater? If the tub/tank isn't in a rack system can you just attach the heat tape to the bottom of the tub?

Oh boy, you're asking the wrong person about this. I've been googling furiously but I am so inept at anything DIY... I'm also assuming you're talking about Flexwatt, which is the only heat tape type thing I know of.

Assuming it is properly regulated, a heating source under the bin should be safe, though with flexwatt it is always stuck to the shelf the bin is on, not the bin itself, as far as I can tell.

Honestly I'd ask this question on a reptile forum, possibly one dedicated to the species you plan on keeping in the tub!

Hi! I was wondering whether heat mats can be used actually inside a reptile vivarium, instead of outside, if taped down? I'm worried it will burn my snake- but I have stackable vivaria and there is no possibility for a heat mat to go outside.

Most brands cannot be used inside, but a few can. They are pricey though!

Kane is one. Flexwatt is another, but the flexwatt has to be sealed with something to make it waterproof. Tape isn’t a good idea because it only takes a single corner to come loose and eventually the whole thing looses it’s stick. You’d have to cover it with some sort of sillicone or something, but I’m not sure. Essentially it has to be waterproof.
