If somehow a Dossie baby was conceived, I don’t think Flossie would go full filial cannibalism, but Dez would definitely have to be Mr. Mom cuz Flossie’s job was not consuming her young like a fucking hamster and she did that already.

The second Flossie told Dez about the baby Dez packed up Flossie, the ducks, and his dog and moved them out of Vesuvia and into a farming village beyond the outskirts of the city, though not without great protest from Flossie. Dez told Flossie he could build her a room off the house so she could open a medical practice and she suddenly become very receptive to the idea, almost delighted even. Dez doubled the amount of ducks and other fowl and Flossie opened a very lucrative practice servicing the surrounding villages, even making a few housecalls for some rather... Gruesome emergencies much to her delight.

Bess would be born on the Bernard-Heraldsen farmstead around the end of March (making Bess an Aries) during a suspiciously well-timed visit from Flossie's old mentor, Valdemar. Valdemar would be the one to declare Bess a "perfectly acceptable human infant".

Dez knew Flossie would have no interest in raising Bess and he was more than happy to do the work. He took to wearing her in a sling pretty well everywhere he went, and when she became old enough to walk she was like his little tiny shadow. This is not to say Bess and Flossie didn't have a relationship, it just wouldn't happen until Bess became more cognizant, when she was around 7 or so. Flossie took great joy in showing her daughter all her instruments, powders, bones, and other medical things and having her sit in when she saw patients.

Thankfully, Bess would inherit her mother's intelligence and her father’s kind nature as far as Dez could tell. She happily cared for the ducks but also took very easily to butchering them when the time came... Perhaps a little too easily.
