Plane Tragedy (AUH - QA)

Soooo, AUH to QA was a literal pain in the ass. Etihad Airways, why you do dis to meh?!¿ So 2 hour stop over, I read a book, wrote a few parts of my WIP story, and just chilled all 2 hours with coffee. The buses came to drop us off by the plane to be boarded. All people were seated and the air conditioning wont turn on. It was hot af. It was boring af. I slept for 30 mins. The pilot notified us that they had some engine trouble. I slept again for an hour and still…. In a powerless plane. Surprise surprise. I literally wanted to tag and drag Etihad, but a minute later they announce that they were trying to fix it, and if it isn’t fixed in 10 mins, we are transferring planes. 2 mins later, 3 buses pulled up beside the plane. I literally thought, “Oh shit.”. FYI, transferring planes is stressful. With the luggage transfer and all, you’ll drop dead. Last minute, they announce that they fixed it and we were leaving. Soooooo, 2 hours after, finally we were moving and thank god nothing broke down while we were on air. That’s all. (◕◡◕)

UPDATE: My flight Experience

So lemme tell ya, I’ve had more trouble in the US than I have in Korea.  But I can proudly say I MADE IT!!!  Let me fill you in on the rest of my airport experience… So I get on the plane at Dulles and everything is fine.  I make it to Cincinnati and even though I had to rush from one plane to the next, I make it just fine.  Transferring in San Francisco is where it gets REALLY interesting.  So I get off the plane and find out that I have to walk from one side of the airport to the other in order to get on the international flight.  The flight attendant literally tells me to “HURRY”.  So it’s like 11:40 and my flight leave at 12:50.  It starts boarding at 12:10.  I make it to the other side of the airport because power walking is in my genes and my legs are long (Thanks mom & dad).  I walk up to security and ask them where my gate is since it isn’t printed on the ticket.  They see Delta and send me through security and tell me my gate should be “that way”.  I make it through security and think to myself “this is great! I should have some time to call my family and let them know the visa issue is really not an issue!” WRONG!!!! I’m looking at the departing flights and there are only like 5 of them, 1 of which is Delta and leaving at12:00pm. I was a tad perplexed…So I walk through the terminal which is virtually empty.  It was set up in an odd manner because you had to go down the stairs to get to some of the gates. UGHHH.  So I stop at a Virgin Atlantic terminal to ask for help and they knew nothing.  Then I head back towards the first few gates and find the Korean Air airline I believe, I ask them if they know where my gate is and they tell me it’s on the OTHER SIDE.  I wanted to cry..So, I power walk back to the other side where I have to go through security AGAIN! I explain that my flight is about to leave and just happen to run into a flight attendant from my flight who was helping another passenger get on as well.  We go through the “VIP” security and I’m speed walking once again to the gate which is the last one in the terminal…Cute…really really cute…  The good news is I made it.  I was sweating like I just went to basketball practice, but I made it. The flight was really nice.  The food was great and the movie selection was awesome.  What really tickled me about the food was that for dinner we had what they called "chicken" but it looked kind of like mystery meat and for dessert something listed as "Chocolate Delight"..I thought it was a personal tribute to me since I'm so cool.  Guess what it was?  A Hershey's chocolate bar, lol.  That really made me chuckle.  I watched “The Town”, I tried to watch “Social Network” but fell asleep.  Every time I turned on a new movie after the first one it was like instant narcolepsy!  I sat next to this guy who was coming back for his second year of teaching.  He was from Kentucky and he is teaching in Busan.  He was really cool.  Wanna hear the funniest part?!  He didn’t have a visa…it was supposed to be ready the next day (Thursday) so basically he was going to show up in Korea and hope that they let him in…HA!  I instantly thought of my girl back at Delta who said she didn’t even know if I would be allowed to board the plane with my visa.  Wooosahh…  I’m happy to report that he made it through and I saw him at baggage claim. It was easier navigating through the airport in Korea than the ones in the states...Go figure.  This is shaping up to be quite the experience already.  Now it's on to the 3-4 hour bus ride to Jeonju University for the orientation.  **Nothing exciting happened on the bus ride BUT the girl that I sat next to was from Pittsburgh and was on my flight apparently.  During role call she heard my name was LaToya and goes "Oh, you're the one they kept looking for over the intercom when we were in San Francisco!"  to which I replied "Yeah, I'm something like a rockstar.." and I told her my fun story.
