Finally uploaded!  Here was today's flight session, we took a two day break for christmas and boxing day so we took things slow. They were really lazy so there wasn't much long distance flight but they stayed focused which is a really main thing so I'm happy with that!

I almost forgot the most precious part of our trip: the Pegasus Airlines flight safety video. Let's be honest, no one still watches the flight attendant  and/or video monitor when it tells you how to buckle your seat belt or evacuate the plane in the event that the plane should miraculously make a water landing as opposed to the more likely scenario where it nose dives into the Atlantic. This is the 21st century people; if you don't know how to buckle your seat belt by now, maybe you shouldn't be on a plane in the first place. This pint-sized stewardess, however, had my full attention for the duration of the video. I learned that Turkish children speaking the language makes it sound even more like gibberish than it already does, and that even in another language, safety instructions are all the same. I tried to find the whole video, but this short clip still gives you a sense of how brilliant the Pegasus marketing department is.

The Drone Journalism Lab's first drone is a Parrot AR.Drone, a quadricopter controlled from a smart phone. We unboxed it on Dec. 23, and here's video of our first flights indoors and outdoors. We learned a couple of lessons. The first: the iPad, outdoors on a sunny day, is useless as a controller. Second: The default settings are boring. But we must crawl before we walk. Soon we'll add the GoPro HD camera to get better in-air footage, and we'll remove default controls as we get more comfortable.
