Mini Rant: Things you should know about Cinemas

It is not our responsibility to forewarn people about things that may cause seizures or distress. It is the responsibility of the movie distributor to make sure messages are accurately presented to the viewer.

The respective Film Ratings Body of the country that you live in is the organisation responsible for issuing ratings such as; G, PG, M, R13, R16, R18, or the like in your country. DO NOT have a go at us for asking for ID. IT IS ILLEGAL if someone under the age for a RESTRICTED movie is allowed in. Many countries issue HUGE fines PER PERSON.

Cinema Tickets and Food Prices are not determined by the staff selling them. Please do not whine to us about how you don't want to pay for it. If you have a complaint or opinion, contact the manager of the cinema or higher. We spend far too much time explaining simple things like this to people.

WE DO NOT make a lot of money from ticket sales. Between 25-55% of ticket sale money returns to movie distributors. Blockbuster movies that take in big money generally cost towards 45 -55% of our takings. 

Thanks to piracy and advanced home entertainment systems, cinemas are slowly becoming a thing of the past. So don't you dare complain that ticket prices are expensive if you are someone who illegally downloads movies. You are a contributing factor the reason why ticket prices are expensive.

Okay so it is a huge deal that it has (so far) the top grossing movie this weekend. Like its huge romantic movies rarely get top billings in theaters especially in the summer. The summer is usually reserved for big budget action blockbusters with huge ass stars (edge of tomorrow for example)  so for a movie made on a 12 million budget to beat huge movies like maleficent and edge of tomorrow even for two days (which is what happened cause  maleficent is the shit) is huge and even more so because of the fact the Hazel is the main person in the movie and she has a incredibly visible disability and that needs to be praised that this is happening because even 5 years ago this movie would not have been made or it would have but major disputers like fox would not have picked it up and very little people would have the opportunity to see it because without fox there would not have been that little tour or the night before our stars or hardly any press and it would have incredibly hard to get it into big theaters. This movie has gone above and beyond the exceptions that have been set for it and I don't see anything like this happening again, it needs to praised for what it has done it broke a Hollywood mold of what a movie in this genre with the type of subject matter and characters can do. *edit* to just add that you have to go back to 2011 to find another romantic movie that was top grossing at the box office and the movie was no-strings attached sooo yeah
