i have heard the theory of dfs being sorta? sentient? which is creepy but cool. but re: inanimate objects and devil fruits, all the ones we've seen so far have been zoan users. plus, all the artificial ones are also zoans. maybe there's something special abt zoan dfs?? bc they're based on sentient things or smth?? certainty food for thought (~flimflamfranky)
i’m linking my own post abt the sentient dfs thing bc i am lazy and also in the middle of getting ready for bed... so i cannot get Too into typing both things
i would guess it’s probably bc they’re based out of living creatures, but also practicality. feeding a sword fruit to a gun doesn’t give you much else besides greater likelihood to be injured wielding it, feeding rubber to a sword makes a nerf sword, a bomb fed the smoke fruit becomes the most expensive smoke bomb in the world, and who knows what you’d do with like... a weapon that could sprout more limbs(?) or come back from the dead(?)
tho i do wonder why all the artificial ones are zoans. from what we’ve seen of kaido and his dedication to aesthetic, tho, i... dont know if i would be surprised if it were bc kaido just really wants to stick to the beast theming......
