Flix/Netflix Roulette API
The Flix/Netflix Roulette API revamp will be going live by the end of November, this revamp will provide a stable alternative to the Netflix public API which shutdown earlier today.
The new API will have a ton of end points, a multitude of options and whatever the community wants me to add to it, all existing wrappers will need to be rewritten.
Further more the new crawler runs multiple virtual copies of itself, 100 to be accurate. 100 virtual spiders with up to 25 threads per spider across 32 cores. This server was purchased thanks to the people who funded my IndieGoGo back in June.
All of these spiders communicate in real time to check for removals, additions and changes to Netflix content. Initial benchmarks are peeking at about 3200 pages at a time, that is a majority of the Netflix content.
Finally the Flix/Netflix Roulette API will feature localization (finally), this will include all current regions Netflix is supported in and any future ones (its literally checking every second to see if a new country gets added)
All with little to no overhead.
The new API should be live soon, hopefully I don't have to deal with the Netflix lawyers anymore because that was an annoying few weeks. (They seriously tried to take down the app off the play store)
Legacy end points will stay live for awhile.
