FLONDIE
ooc: I AM SO SORRY FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WRITTEN, EVER. PLEASE FORGIVE ME.
“You gotta relax a little, everything will be fine. You two were made for each other, and nothing is going to happen today that will change that.”
Flynn looked up from where he was currently making his thousandth round of the room, and turned to his best man. Slinky made a pointed look at the groove Flynn had worn into the carpet with his pacing, before saying, “This is the best day of your life. Enjoy it.”
Unable to come up with a coherent response that wouldn’t involve pouring out every single one of his insecurities about how the wedding might pan out, Flynn instead made a pained expression before spinning to look in the mirror behind him. He stared at his appearance, and reached up with his hands to fiddle with his bow tie. He then heard a sigh behind him, and steps approaching, before feeling hands gently pushing his own down to rest against his sides.
“It’s probably time now, actually. We should head out there.”
At these words, Flynn began to feel a little light-headed. This was it. All of the waiting they’d done, the preparation, it had been leading up to this moment. Despite all the trouble that had been happening on the island lately, despite the fact that their wedding party was missing a number of people important to the both of them, they were about to become Mr and Mrs Eugene Fitzherbert.
In hindsight, Flynn realised that much of his worries were unwarranted. Maybe there were a few details that had gone astray –Frollo very nearly succeeding in crashing the wedding in an attempt to oversee it himself being a highlight, as well as the occasional individual drunk-dancing on top of the tables at the reception– but the day that he got married to Rapunzel was always going to be perfect.
She’d looked radiant as she walked down the aisle, flower petals falling to rest on her train as they were scattered by Andy, and Flynn soon forgot everyone else in the room. He’d actually missed much of the wedding ceremony itself, content instead to stare at Rapunzel and wonder just how he’d been so lucky. He only tuned in at the very end, when asked to pledge his heart to the girl before him, clearing his throat before reading out what was perhaps the most comically cheesy wedding vows ever written. His words sobered at the end, however, and when he had finished not one single person in the room was left with any doubt that Eugene loved Rapunzel.
And although Rapunzel hadn’t looked altogether impressed when the cake was wheeled out, decorated with miniature cupcakes and small figures resembling herself and R2D2 sitting proudly astride the highest tier, he knew by the light in her eyes that she was just as in love with him.
