Had a patient pass out and shit himself in the clinic's waiting area.
Yep. Gonna be one of those days.
In what has to be *the* most bizarre thing I've ever encountered, we've discharged a couple patients for running a laptop chop shop on the floor.
Me, Frantically checking my business email a day after I put in an application: Oh boy, I can’t wait to hear about them hiring me for this job with real human hours!
Too Long; Don’t read below the break
So.
I got removed from my site today.
All because per-diem’s are a lot cheaper than anyone with experience.
So now I’m crossing my fingers that I get severance because, for ~-some_~ reason, National EMT certs aren’t accepted in Washington, and I have to get a state cert *AND* a state drivers liscense (Despite said thing being out of Federal regulations until 2020. AkA, can’t go home until shit gets fixed)
I thought my stress level was through the roof when my floor catered to drug addicts without a proper plan other than methadone and well wishes, now I’m a nationally certified EMT without a job in an area with the worst opioid epidemic in the nation, and no one is hiring without a fucking washington state cert that acknowledges I can administer narcan.
How fucked up is that?
I've been on shift for 5 hours now, and we've had about an OD an hour. Gonna be one of those days.
Hoo boy, so we got a former employee trying to gain access to the floor, which normally wouldn't be a problem...except they were fired for pretty serious legal reasons (after one week) Aaaaand the floor instructions are to call 911 if they gain access to the floor,so this is just great.
