Flora’s Neopets Lookup
The warm, sweet aroma of rich black tea filled every cozy nook of the cafe while Flora watched the tea leaves unfold beneath the water's heat. With a quick push of a button, her timer was set and the tea was steeping, all the while a curious set of eyes followed her from beneath. On top of the glass case, a dark tabby lounged a little too comfortably, his golden eyes half opened as the beans on his toes opened and closed in contentment. Flora attempted to move him but he wouldn't budge; dead weight.
In the back, children could be heard bickering. "Celine! Soren! Come here!”
The fighting stopped instantaneously and two pairs of footsteps approached. A girl with wild, bright red hair and luminous green eyes looked at her innocently. The boy, a bit taller than the girl, with deep brown locks but the same green eyes, stuck his tongue out but retracted it when he met his mother's eyes.
“What is it this time, little ones?”
“She won't let me lick the beaters!”
“Because it's my turn!"
But Flora just laughed. "Aren't there two beaters?”
They nodded. "Then share!" The two nodded and disappeared in back, a fluffy white cat chasing the girl's apron strings which were dragging the floor behind her.
Flora glanced up at her clock; two minutes till - but the door had already chimed - as a man with thick, ropy dreads came in.
“Jonah...you were almost late.”
“But I wasn't.”
“I'm just saying, I can't open unless my barista is present.”
Jonah just laughed, tying his apron and flashing a dashing smile in apology.
The Cozy Cat Cafe was open for business!
The Tiny House Community lives - and Flora is the latest resident! A mother of two, a lover of cats and an entrepreneur, she opens the Cozy Cat Cafe below her tiny house to bring business to the area and a hangout for the local residents. Her husband is often traveling (over the road trucker) but Flora has plenty to keep her busy: between her two kids, Soren and Celine and her love of her many adopted cats that inhabit the space (mostly seniors), Flora has little time left for anything else.
