Why does it say on your blog that you're a pantheist? What is that?
Pantheism is the belief that the universe (or nature as the totality of everything) is identical with divinity,[1] or that everything composes an all-encompassing, immanent God.[2] Pantheists thus do not believe in a distinct personal or anthropomorphicgod.[3] Some Asian religions are considered to be pantheistically inclined.
But like in my own words… you know how it was going around that we live in a “computer simulation”?? But it was taken out of context to sound all matrix-y and freak people out. The way our universe works is LIKE a computer simulation. Theres the code (physics and mathematics and stuff), and then what the code projects, and we’re living in/experiencing that projection. so like to me, the basic coding of the universe to me is God itself.
I always felt like that but I finally found a word for it!!!
I’m also a religious naturalist, which a lot of people think go hand in hand with pantheism. I’ve identified as religious naturalist for a while but never felt like it fully hit the nail on the head like pantheism.
Religious naturalism is an approach to spirituality that is devoid of supernaturalism. The focus is on the religious attributes of theuniverse/nature, the understanding of it and our response to it (interpretive, spiritual and moral). These provide for the development of an eco-morality.[1] Although it has an ancient heritage in many philosophical cultures, this modern movement is currently not well defined.[2]Theistic or nontheistic religious naturalism is a basic theological perspective of liberal religion andreligious humanism, according to some sources.[3]
Religious naturalism is concerned about the meaning of life, but it is equally interested in living daily life in a rational, happy way.
So yeah. Sounds weird and kinda scary but it’s pretty simple and a nice concept!! (to me at least)
