Four Headcanons for Florence and Gideon
1. Though they’d shared the hallways of Hogwarts together for four years, Gideon had very few memories of Florence before encountering her through mutual friends. For him, meeting a vivacious and passionate young woman without the preconceptions of their youth built in was a luxury not often afforded in the Wizarding World. It was safe to say that it helped him form a very quick, positive option of the woman.
2. While extracting laughter from his friends and family was essentially a second career for Gideon, he always felt incredibly accomplished when he was able to get Florence to laugh. With the girl’s passionate personality came an intensity that often made her seem hard; But once Gideon began quipping, the unexpectedly lyrical laughter emerged.
3. Flirting with and teasing Florence Wilson had become a guilty pleasure of Gideon’s. It wasn’t done with insincerity or malice, but the girl’s apprehension at his playful advances and her occasionally awkward responses gave him endless enjoyment. It was the sort of joking banter that he so often engaged in with other female friends, though it seemed like Florence was unfamiliar with his sense of humour. That unfamiliarity was enough to push Gideon to be perhaps more adventurous in his jokes than he would otherwise be - until Florence put him in his place, of course.
4. Through their involvement with Aversio, Gideon and Florence had been spending an increasing amount of time together. Despite this and irrespective of her tendency towards bluntly addressing the issues she saw with a particular plan, the woman seemed more tentative around him. For all their proximity and casual conversation, Gideon couldn’t say that he knew much about Florence. Outside of the fact that he enjoyed her company and admired her drive, she was a closed book.
