Later, when Drizella's mother come over to personally thank him... Florian couldn't help but think of how similar their lives were. Both widowed, both trying to raise their daughters. It was comforting.

For whatever reason, helping that little girl get home made Florian's grief ease. He got a cow for their farm and began picking up the chores that had fallen to the wayside.

Deciding a change in scenario was needed, Florian packed up what he could and moved to Henford-on-Bagley with Cinderella. He had hoped it would end his broken heart but found himself still wandering aimlessly in the mornings, following the river. Until one day he ran into a plucky little girl who seemed to be a bit lost.
