Artist Statement 작가 노트
We press our face against the ground, feel the earth, listen to the sounds that are familiar, strange, calming, annoying. We wrap ourselves in it, take it with us, process it. Let’s sing back to the earth, to the gift we received by her. May this be a beautiful duet.
우리는 얼굴을 땅에 대고 땅을 느끼며 익숙하고 이상한, 진정한, 짜증나는 소리를 듣는다. 우리는 그 소리에 감싸여, 그것을 가져가고, 처리한다. 땅에게 노래를 부르자, 그녀로부터 받은 선물에 대한 우리의 답례로. 이것이 아름다운 듀엣이 되기를 바란다.

Florian Karg imagines an exchange or union between human and earth. Rather than taking a humble human position, this encounter vividly captures a trance-like consciousness. A circular wooden panel connected to speakers creates a vibration, as the sound emitted from the earth is transformed into power and energy, which are then transmitted to our bodies. We live under earthly conditions. Why did the artist recover these sensations in Hongcheon? And how? (Kim Min-kwan)
플로리안 카륵은 땅과 인간의 교류 혹은 합일을 상상한다. 땅과 인간의 맞닿음은 겸허한 인간의 위치보다는 트랜스되는 인간의 의식을 생생하게 포착하게 한다. 스피커와 연결된 원형의 나무 패널은 진동을 일으킨다. 땅이 일으키는 소리는 힘과 에너지, 우리의 몸에 전해지는 진동으로 변환된다. 우리는 땅 위의 조건에서 살아가기 때문이다. 작가는 왜 홍천에서 이러한 감각을 되찾은 것일까. 그것은 어떻게 가능한 것일까. (김민관)
