All of my clowns give good hugs for various reasons:

Roscoe: His metal chestplate is always nice and warm, like a hot computer tower, and its pleasant rainbow colors create a soothing effect. It's made of an undefined metal that is oddly smooth and slippery, while still having steel-like properties. His telescoping arms can wrap someone up like a burrito, and can send pleasant tingles/vibrations throughout their body.

Willie: They're STRONK. They love hugging people into their buff arms & smothering them against their impressive pecs and giving them noogies. They're always careful not to hurt someone, but they do enjoy flaunting their strength. They will also always be happy to help pop someone's back.

Nillie: Very tall, and very squishy with a doughy belly and thicc thighs. But also they're partially made up of colored lights, so hugging them would fill someone's vision with very soothing low-light colors. They also like giving headpats & backrubs.

Balthazar: His body is always pleasantly warm, and his scales are smooth like a snake's. His jester top & pants are very silky and poofy. His neck petals are a strange, pleasant mix between puffy like pillows, and velvety like flower petals. His bells give off a very soft, pleasant echoey chime, a bit like Chinese medicine balls.

Florien: Similar to Willie, he's very beefy. His hugs aren't comical, though; they're dominating. A way for him to assert himself.

But then when he gives you a genuinely affectionate hug, or one out of sympathy, it is heart-meltingly gentle and loving.

Laurence: Very tall, his tumby is at perfect hugging height. And he typically always gives gentle scalp-scritchies or shoulder rubs to accompany the hug.

And, of course, the most important reason: Every single one of them would 100% give cheer-up tickles. Or lure someone into a false sense of security so they can attack with tickles. 👌

I hope you enjoyed this silly little comic! Mermay has gone but l enjoy this AU so much I want to draw some more... Also I know the format is weird but I made the layout originally for IG lol (I meant to post this here a while ago but for some reason Tumblr kept crashing while uploading)
