He is the man who inspired us a lot that WOB cannot be only on the road; office might be also good! Thank you Floris, You have no idea how you changed us!
Floris Dekker, CPO & Cofounder of Gidsy.
"As a head of product, Floris spends his days breaking things when trying to code and thinking about design and stradegy of Gidsy. Apart from nerding out over little details, Floris is also considered to be the tallest CPO on this side of Atlantic." -Gidsy
WOB= NO RULES! Now, read more and learn from Floris and ask yourself what's yours?

-Hi! How are you?
Great!
-Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a 25 year old guy from Amsterdam who moved to Berlin 3 years ago to start a design studio called Your Neighbours. After having the studio for two years I founded a startup called Gidsy with my brother and an Austrian friend of ours and here we are! I also run a design blog called Little Big Details, which I really enjoy working on as well.
-Do you like mushrooms?
I love mushrooms, but only the ones that don't make you hallucinate and make great dinners. Actually, trying to get someone to help us find the right mushrooms was one of the reasons we started Gidsy! But I guess you knew that already haha.
-What exactly you doing on Gidsy?
I am the CPO here at Gidsy, that stands for "Chief Product Officer". That basically means I spend my days worrying about our product management and strategy of everything related to Gidsy. Designing things is still my passion, but I don't get to do that as often as I'd like to anymore! The good news is that all the other stuff is a lot of fun as well.
-What kind of message does Gidsy want to send people?
We just want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to find and offer unique things to do all over the world. We're tired of the current travel industry.
-What's Gidsy's next plan?
We have something really big coming up, we call it the "Columbus release". We've been working on this for months and its drastically going to improve the way Gidsy works and where it works. More news coming soon!
-Do you enjoy work with your brother Edial?
For sure! Its great to work with someone you know that well, it really speeds things up. Our other founder Phil has also been amazing and so has the rest of the team. We spend a lot of time trying to find the right people to work with and so far its been nothing but amazing.
-Can you share with us, what’s your daily schedule? Always flying?
Haha, I try to leave most of the traveling to Edial so I can focus on building the product. I still end up traveling quite a lot though but thats also because I visit my hometown Amsterdam regularly.
-Give some tips to who also want to start their own business?
Start tomorrow and don't listen to the naysayers.
-What do you think you’d like to do once in a lifetime?
Explore the bottom of the ocean.
-Recommend us one secret spot you love in Berlin.
The spot itself is not really secret I guess, but its really fun to hide from the security at Tempelhof park and stay there until it becomes night. The sky gets really amazing and it its just a very special place.
-Do you surf?
Yeah! I've been surfing ever since I was 14 and I've never stopped loving it since. My favorite place to surf is probably portugal, even though its usually quite crowded everywhere.
-Do you love traveling?
For sure! There's nothing more exiting then exploring new places and cultures.
-Do you cooking? What’s your Specialty dish?
I used to be a pizza maker for years during my studies. I used to make some pretty amazing pizza's but it requires so many things and preparation that these days I end up never making any.
-Do you like WaveonBoard?
Yeah I love it! I also find it quite amazing how it works and riding it has a very unique feeling to it.
-Where you usually ride W.O.B in Berlin?
Usually in the office! Its a great way to get around and clear your head a little. I also like to take it up to Tempelhof Park sometimes and ride on one of the landing strips. If the wind is in your back it's really amazing.
-Last questions, have you been to Taiwan? We are looking forward to your visiting to Taiwan and launching here.
Not yet! But I definitely will in the upcoming years. As for Gidsy, we'll launch there before the summer!
