There’s this Spanish girl group that became a minor meme that I have spent the good part of the night listening to.

The story is that they are all sisters and devout Catholics, if not necessarily traditionalists, and they promised to form a girl group dedicated to Catholic pop music if their mother went into remission from cancer.

While that sentiment is rather sweet, their music sounds like an obscure kpop song from 2012 but in “Christianise”. Debateably, only one of them can sing. The fashion is bland, the budget low, and they almost make the fundamentalist Baptist family bands sound decent. It’s beautiful.

P.S. the group is named “Flos Mariae”
