#flower conundrum

but what if grandma had a greenhouse? I mean, the house is big. And having a greenhouse is what rich people do, right? And she puts the beautiful harmless flowers around the house but the most rare and dangerous ones she keeps in the greenhouse. I can see grandma having an orchidarium <3 and and collecting flowers!

oooo.  She has a massive house and grounds.  There is most likely a greenhouse somewhere.  I mean, there’s an actual house somewhere on the property that is lovingly referred to as the ‘dog house’ where Grandpa was sent to live for the remainder of his days.  So surely they can fit a greenhouse there somewhere.

well seeing as we're just throwing out flower suggestions, i've always been fond of bleeding hearts myself... but i've no idea what they mean lol. plus, they're on the small side so they'd probably work better as accent flowers than the centerpiece of a bouquet :x

i had literally never even heard of those flowers before.  Ever.  They are really pretty and accurately named.  a quick and possibly incorrect google search leads me to believe it means wearing your heart on your sleeve.  Which would not be Grandma’s style for meaning-purposes.  Still a pretty and unusual flower.

i saw a lot of flower suggestions and i wanted to possibly suggest a few i personally like: morning glories (though they're quite fragile and never really in a bouquet), foxglove, and hydrangea (poisonous buds)

ooo, foxglove is pretty.  (I hadn’t ever seen it and thus immediately went to look it up.  Don’t judge me too harshly, I’m allergic to all flowers and thus avoid them.)

There are several carities of nightshade that are beautiful and deadly at the same time.

ooo nightshade.  Visually striking and yet dangerous.  Not certain Grandma would trust it around her many (dumb) grandchildren.  (Oh lord, Haytham wouldn’t survive.  Since the jerk apparently eats flowers…)

I'm too late for suggesting a flower? I thought about fleur-de-lis~ means honor, loyalty, power and was the symbol from french monarchy. An awesome flower for a badass woman. <3

You are not too late.  It is an ongoing conundrum (you know, until I actually write it into the story).  Grandma needs an awesome fucking flower.  She deserves one.  I haven't looked up this flower yet but I clearly need to.  It's on the list of possibilities.

I still have your fluff prompts.  They are still lovely.  I am still going to write them.  But first I have to be moody and surly and unlovable.  (Ugh.)

Is there anyone out there that knows enough about flowers to make suggestions as to what Altair's grandmother's favorite flower would be?  I have basically employed the 'look on websites for what flowers represent and random pick one that sounds nice' method.  But I am ignorant of flowers.
