A Few Months Too Late || Max & Licorice

[♫] — So. That thing he said about honoring commitments? That still held true. Even if it meant resuming a date that had been halted eight months ago, due to his sudden departure.

Most people would simply let it go, and move on to other things. But Max felt he owed Licorice a good time, after purchasing her time during that Date Auction held so long ago... so if it meant dredging up an old arrangement, then he would do so, gladly.

He meets up with Licorice after scheduling another outing, deciding to show her a few sights in Leuda this time around. He thought it a bit strange that she brought a plant with her, but Max supposed it was just her ‘thing’. Everyone had something they were attached to, after all.

As they walk down the street, Max rambles on, making up suggestions as he goes. “So I was thinking we could go out to the karaoke place, or maybe the cinema, if you prefer?” She didn’t seem like much of a singer. “Afterwards, we could stop by the Oakwood for a bite to eat...”

Beautiful Blooms || Lillie & Licorice

[ ☀ ] — It wasn’t often Lillie found herself on Arcadia. Most of her work was centered in Leuda, which rarely ever gave her time to visit the neighboring island unless it was a trip she made on assignment. But for the first time in a while, some free time had opened up in her schedule, and Lillie decided to use that chance to visit the fabled magical isle.

With the thrum of energy in the air and its abundance of greenery, she could already see how different Arcadia was from Leuda. Being from the mainland, she didn’t really prefer one island over the other--- both had their good and bad points, though she would admit that Arcadia reminded her just a bit more of home.

After visiting a few nearby farms, Lillie decides to stop by the botanical garden. She’d heard about the place from a few co-workers, and had always been interested in checking it out.

Stepping into the main lobby, she begins to look around curiously. She wondered if there were actually fairies here...?

GIGANTic gifts

✧ Who would he be without his coworkers? The people who help him through everything, and whom he tries to help just as much. Vishnal’s affection towards them hopefully doesn’t go unnoticed, but there’s nothing against a little extra appreciation here and there.

Mornings were a beautiful time to be out. The sun had come up over the horizon and was making its rise into the sky, picturesque through early morning fog. Trent had already gone on his run by that the time, having had a quick breakfast before he would go to the forest to forage.

He had his bag packed with sample cases and tools he might need, a camera around his neck and his binder tucked away in the bottom of his bag just in case he should run into anything interesting.

Stepping into the forest always made him smile, breathing in the scent of rich earth and lush foliage. Distantly, birds chirped in the branches, greeting the day. It was early enough that he actually startled when he got further in and saw a familiar brunette. “Oh... Licorice. Good morning.”

Squash Goals || Licorice & Popuri

It’d been a long day at the Explorer’s Guild. Popuri was used to the physical aspect, but the recent run in with her brother had left her tired mentally as well. As much as she tried to put it out of her mind, it was still there. Their fight hadn’t ended on good terms.

Jack o’ Lantern carving? Oh wow, it was getting to that time of the year. She’d practically forgotten! And this was one of her favorite holidays too! It would be the first year in quite awhile that she could go get candy. Maybe carving a pumpkin would get her mind off of things.

Waving at the woman who greeted her, Popuri headed towards the table and looked over the information, picking up the pamphlet and eyeing the donation jar. Hmmm, she had a bit of money on her. Reaching into her pockets, she dropped in 3,000G. No one seemed to have put in any yet so she felt a little bad she didn’t have more on her.

Popuri’s eyes traveled to the stencils. Oh! They were so cute!

Perfect Date || Max & Licorice

[♫] — The Date Auction.

It had happened so long ago that Max barely remembers what had gone down there, but the date he’d purchased certainly hadn’t slipped his mind. Due to the nature of the event, he had no idea what he would be getting into when he so casually threw his bid out, but for the fun-loving heir, the mystery of it all was the most exciting part.

So once he finally finds some time to give his promised date the quality time she deserved, Max calls her up and decides to meet her where she lived... or rather, worked: the botanical gardens on Arcadia.

He knew little to nothing about this Licorice woman, but with a name like that, she was sure to be an interesting one.

“Hello? Miss Licorice?” He calls as he steps into the area of the garden the other workers had directed him to. “Your darling date has arriiiived... ♪ ”

Popuri, Rick, Licorice, and Dia investigate the strange ship that’s docked at the top of the Tower of the Gods. Popuri keeps the journal, Licorice keeps the Key Piece, and the Sechs warship is docked at the Arcadia Explorer’s Guild. The sword, once they were informed of its origins, was returned to its proper place. The rings are still aboard the ship.

Same Hat | Basil & Licorice

After receiving word of mouth from Carter that his daughter, whom had yet to leave her room at the Three Sisters’ Inn since his arrival on the island, was being well taken care of by a nun of his parish, Basil thought to burn some of his restless, anxious energy by partaking in a favorite pastime: perusing the shelves of a library.

While there was plenty in the public one to hold his interest, his passions were more specific-- and Basil was the sort of man who had never any choice in his life but to follow them. It also eased his worry some of the possibility of being identified by Mary's coworkers for family resemblance; a concern which was completely unfounded, as she took almost entirely after her mother.

The Herbarium and Resource Library located within the native plant section of the Botanical Gardens was everything he hoped to find to entertain him, and more. He was especially tickled to find not just a few, but every last one of his published works on botany nestled in their own little section the lovingly curated collection. His fingers danced indecisively along their well-worn spines until, for nostalgia’s sake, he slid the very first book he’d ever written from the shelf and began to thumb through it.

It was then that he noticed someone softly approaching, and, being a relentlessly sociable man, glanced up to greet them. He was surprised to find a girl about his daughter’s age-- not many young people were interested in plants-- of understated beauty. A Glycine Max axillary blossom, peeking modestly from where petiole and stem meet. He wondered if she happened to know his daughter, a Bellis Perennis; he felt instinctively that they would get along, if she did.
