Would you like the idea of an Avatar in FE14? It seems there's already people who don't.

I personally don’t like it because self-insert bias from interactions with fans who are too overzealous about it (i.e. the ones that gave me the idea to do waifu and husbando execution videos).

I can understand the veterans like bookofholsety and moldyonion who dislike Awakening’s aspects especially with the My Unit/Avatar.

However I do like the fact that they’re taking Awakening and tweaking all the little holes and shortcomings. So, if they do a good job with it, I’m pretty open to it.

Belinda is pretty excited for it actually. And I can understand that side as well. A customizable character that “can” be you, but also doesn’t have to be makes it have a kind of weird, but interesting sort of immersion in the story.

I mean I LOVED IT TO DEATH in Awakening because I’m one of those people that are really emotional and felt that kind of connection even if everything doesn’t make sense (i.e. cried on Chapter 9 and 10), but the whole waifus and husbandos thing being taken seriously is something I think the more “hostile” members of Serenes Forest all feel. I can be pretty hostile, if you’ve seen me around there when subjects like that come up.
