Ah, thank you so much~! Sorry, this is late and small..still trying to break free from writer's block so it might not be good I apologise! Also slight ooc Rick? ‘cause like this is puking rainbow levels of fluff???

It was rare for you to be awake before Rick but when you were you were always happy because you got to see him in his most vulnerable state. He slept beside you, breathing softly. You watched the small rise and fall of his chest as he slept. He looked so peaceful.

Before you realised it an arm was wrapped around you as Rick pulled you into him. You buried your face into his chest and sighed happily. You loved it when Rick was affectionate like this. You snuggled up against him as he cracked his eyes open only to give you a soft but sweet kiss your the top of your head.

"Morning sunshine." He said gently. His voice was raspy and low from just waking up and you smiled happily, pulling away enough to look up at him.

"Good morning Rick~"

"What time is it?" Rick lifted his head a little to look at the clock. "Oh shit, I should probably get up." He groaned softly.

You placed your hand against his chest and snuggled into him a little more. "Why not stay here a little while longer? mm, I'm nice and warm~" You whined playfully and smiled when Rick pulled you closer to him again.

"You're a spoiled brat you know that?" Rick grinned as he looked down at you.

"I know~" you chuckled softly before lifting your head to give Rick a peck on the lips.

you loved laying here like this with him. It was just you and him. He rolled over onto his back and you moved to rest your head on his chest, closing your eyes to listen to his heart beat. being close to him like this always made you feel at ease. It was a side of Rick that you and you only got to witness.

Everyone sees Rick as an asshole who only cares about himself but you know the other side, the sweet and caring side. Sure he might not show it a lot in public but when you're alone together he does. He smiles a lot more and he's more affectionate. He never shy's away from showing you exactly how much he cares and loves you.

You snuggled into him once more and chuckled softly to yourself. Rick raised an eyebrow to the sudden small spurt of giggles that left your throat. "What are you thinking about?" He asked as he mindlessly drew small circles on your arm with his thumb as he held you.

"Just you..and how much I enjoy being like this with you.." you blushed darkly, hiding your face in his chest.

"You're damn adorable sometimes you know that?" Rick chuckled softly and you lifted your head to playfully pout at him and he laughed. "Yeah, you're not convincing me."

You laughed softly and moved up a bit, burying your face into the crook of his neck. Rick didn't want to ruin the moment but he had to ask.

"Don't you have to get ready to go to work?"

"Yeah...but I can be a little late."

You smiled as you laid a small kiss on Rick's neck. You wanted this moment to last just a little while longer.

Rick ran his hand over your waist and pulled you close to him. You blinked a few times before your mind fully woke up from its slumber. Ricks chest was keeping your back warm and you rolled over in his arms to face him. “Morning” you smiled at him. “Morning, you sleep alright?” he asked, running his hand through your hair. You nodded and he stared into your eyes for a couple of seconds before kissing you slowly, letting you feel the movements of his mouth against yours. He ran his hand up your bare back, sending a tingling sensation down your spine. You moved your kisses to his jawline and then you broke away, biting your lip as you looked at him. “What’s that look for?” He asked, giving you a curious smile. “Nothing.” You smiled back. “I just love the feel of you” “Me too” he said as he propped himself up on one elbow and continued to kiss you passionately. You allowed his tongue entrance to your mouth and you let him be in control of the kiss, you weren’t in the teasing mood you usually were in. This time you didn’t want to play fight for control, he’s earned it. After your heated kissing session, you sat up in bed and shrugged on an oversized top which came down to your midthigh. “You hungry?” you asked, looking back at Rick who was licking his lips. “Mhmm” was all he said as you went downstairs to prepare breakfast. You were plating up the food when two hands came from behind you and wrapped around your waist, squeezing tight. You let out a small shout, but then laughed when you turned your head to see Rick. “You scared me” you said, continuing to put the eggs on the plate. Rick gave you a few kisses on your neck before sitting down at the table. “You don’t need to be scared with me around (y/n)” he said, eyeing up the food hungrily. You placed the plates down and you both shared breakfast together. When you were finished, Rick carried you upstairs bridal style and gently threw you on the bed. You giggled as the both of you disappeared under the covers and started kissing. You felt like a teenager, you thought as you ran your fingers through Ricks curly hair. You spent the rest of the morning in bed, kissing and then taking breaks to talk about everything and anything. Rick never wanted to lose you, so every moment you two spent together he treasured so dearly, especially mornings like these where you could both let your guard down and be yourselves. ———————————————————————————————————–

Your ex boyfriend used to beat you up pretty bad. Whether it was wearing something “inappropriate” or saying something he didn’t like, your arguments would always result in him hitting you. Some days you would be terrified to come home to him, you wanted to stay at a friends house so bad. You knew if you did that then you would face fatal consequences when you got home. You put up with his shit because you were scared. The threats of hurting you and your family kept you quiet.

He died in the beginning. You watched as a walker ripped his body apart, only able to stare in horror and what was going on. But you have learned to forgive him and learned to respect yourself a lot more. You’re able to stand up for yourself and let your voice be heard. You were a strong woman now and no one could change that. Except in this moment with Rick Grimes.

All the memories came flooding back to your mind. You knew this man would never lay a finger on you, but the way you two were arguing right now made your heart sink.

“You were meant to stay in Alexandria! You didn’t listen to what I told you!” He shouted at you.

You went on a run with Rosita and Abraham after he specifically told you not to. But you don’t take orders that are pointless. You can take care of yourself and you’ve proven that time and time again. Rick knows you can, so you only laughed when he tried to stop you from going.

“I’m here aren’t I? I can look after myself out there Rick!” you struggled to keep your voice from shaking. The argument had gotten heated.

“Negan is a man you don’t want to run into (Y/n)! Have you not heard what the Hilltop said? I don’t want that to happen to you” his voice was strong, still loud and unshaken.

“Stop treating me like a 9 year old Rick! I’m carefu-”

“Stop being so goddamn stubborn” Rick slammed his first onto the countertop and you jumped at his movement. You were shocked, you looked up at him and saw the man who used to slam his fists into walls and tables. Tears welled up in your eyes and Rick looked at you realising what he had done.

“(Y/n)-” he started, but you were shaking your head and backing away.

“This is how it starts Rick and I won’t do it again” you whispered, letting the tears drop down your cheeks.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it I just got frustrated” he moved towards you but you stopped him from coming any closer. He murmured your name and gently grabbed your wrists and pulled you into a hug. One arm wrapped around your waist and the other around your neck, his hand stroking your head.

“I just don’t wanna lose you. I can’t lose anyone else, and not like this. I know you can take care of yourself but, everyone fucks up” he kissed the top of your head and you looked up at him and wiped your tears away. You smiled and looked down at the floor.

“I know you’ll never hurt me Rick. It’s just the memories, I didn’t want to re-live them”

He gently pushed your chin up to look at him. His bright blue eyes filled with love and concern. He placed his lips on yours and all your worries and fear melted away.

“I love you Rick”
