I was late. It slipped my mind. I felt dumb, but I felt bad too; he deserved something on Valentine's, even if it was over now. I didn't even notice he'd been crying until I finally looked up and the box of chocolates I was hiding behind my back suddenly didn't feel so stupid to give him anymore.
