Five smart ways to avoid Teeth Decay
Five Smart ways to avoid TEETH DECAY There is nothing more bothering than a bad toothache. I don’t know how many of us have really gone through it personally, but I do believe that the very thought of it is a nightmare to most of us. Just not to regret later, it is my pleasure to leak out some secret tips that can really keep a TEETH DECAY at bay! 1. BRUSH, BRUSH, AND BRUSH : Every one of us do brush our teeth each day as a ritual. But are we really putting our time and mind in it ? is a good question to ask. We do have 32 pearls. They need to be cleaned as we clean glass. The rule of thumb is, make sure you use a soft or a medium toothbrush with a good fluoridated toothpaste reaching out all the areas of your mouth once at least every 24 hours. This will eliminate the slimy layer on the teeth, the prime breeding place of TEETH DECAY causing bacteria. Courtesy: McCloy Dental 2. NUTRITIONAL MEAL: A meal full of nutrients is the best way to fight decay. Fiber-rich foods and natural sugars are better not only for the teeth but for the overall wellbeing of our health. Avoiding empty calorie foods, Sugars do help in avoiding exposure to harmful bacteria that can increase the occurrence of TEETH DECAY. Foods rich in Calcium and Fluoride help in keeping teeth strong and resistant to Demineralization of Teeth enamel 3. FLOSS: Nothing works out in cleaning between teeth, as floss. Flossing is a good practice to fight interdental TEETH DECAY originating between teeth. There are various varieties of floss which I will be discussing in my oncoming articles. Flossing removes 40% of the dirt that might be missed with mere brushing. so don`t consider it as an additional chore but incorporate in the daily routine and make a big difference in oral hygiene 4. FLUORIDE PROPHYLAXIS: Based on the research made by C. Richards, in 2013, there was a substantial reduction of 37% occurrence of TEETH DECAY. Researchers suggest that Fluoride application has not only reduced the occurrence of TEETH DECAY but also delayed the caries progression of initial caries. Fluoride application can be done in-office by the dentist once every 3 months for efficient prevention and control of TEETH DECAY. One appointment lasting just 45minutes -1hour and costing just 150 AED can save your teeth not only from decay but also from bigger expenditures like Root canal treatment and worst of all, replacing missing teeth. PROFESSIONAL SCALING AND EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF CARIES: It is highly imperative to visit your dentist at least once every six months for a professional check-up to catch early TEETH DECAY and restore it at the earliest to avoid spreading. A professional scaling helps to remove the calculus that cannot be removed with mere brushing and increase the Gum health. Schedule an appointment with the dentist at the earliest to get a professional cleaning done, especially if you notice your gums bleeding every morning while brushing or you notice hard calculus formations on the inside of teeth. Taking meticulous care of your teeth pays you in the long term… helping you avoid unnecessary and surprise trips to the dentist. Working on your dental health is a natural and inexpensive way of working on your smile. So preserve your teeth and preseve your smile! Loading...
