trying to flesh out flure and his backstory a little more to hopefully help me figure out what to do with him. im putting it here for my own reference and in case anyone is interested!
his biological father is an unsavory pirate from krawk island and his biological mother is a snobbish former aristocrat from neovia. they’re both krawks.
his father longs to gain the power and prestige that he’s never had, while his mother longs to regain her titles and nobility.
this drives them to seek out one of the haunted woods’ many witches in order to snatch her powerful relics and spell books and use them for their own gain
they’re spotted and, unbeknownst to them at the time, cursed as they’re fleeing the scene
they believe they’re safe and are able to brush off the ordeal for years until their son hatches into a bizarre, mutated baby krawk
they drop him at the nearest orphanage and scram, hoping to distance themselves from both the baby and the curse
flure spends the first few years of his life here and is, for the most part, pretty happy! he’s well taken care of and has no knowledge of his past. most of his friends and peers are zombies and halloween pets, so he’s really not that out of place
he’s adopted by his elderly mothers at around age 3/4 and has a happy childhood. his parents completely spoil him with what little money they have and dote on him constantly
he’s educated through high school. he dropped out afterwards in order to help his moms out around the shop. they’re pretty old at this point and rely on him a lot
at present, flure is 19/20 and both of his mothers have passed on. he runs the shop by himself. he knows he’s cursed, having gathered this from the way plants mutate around him, but he doesn’t know why or by whom or who his biological parents are
still, he’s pretty happy! he has a cautiously optimistic personality. his mothers’ longtime customers still frequent his shop (even though the plants are completely different now) and fret over how much hes grown. the new customers are mostly young punk types who like his unique plants. he occasionally goes into neovia, but mostly hangs around his house since he’s a little self-conscious about his looks. he has a few friends, and he’s very much a mom friend (even though it sometimes seems like he’s the one who needs to be parented).
