Keeho
Keeho sat in your chair longer than necessary, shoulders relaxed, chin tilted up just enough to give you space. The room smelled faintly of powder and setting spray. You leaned in, focused on the finishing touches, blending carefully along his cheekbone. Every time you got close, he smiled. Not a big grin, not the kind meant for cameras. It was small and helpless, like his face forgot how to stay neutral around you.
“Someone's in a good mood today,” you said, trying to sound professional.
“yeah I can't help myself,” he replied, then immediately cleared his throat. His ears turned pink. “I mean. Sorry.”
You laughed softly and adjusted your grip, brushing a little blush into place. Your fingers barely touched his skin, but he felt it anyway. You noticed how still he went, how his eyes followed you in the mirror like you were something precious and slightly unreal. Your heart thudded, traitorous and loud, but you ignored it. You always did.
“All done,” you said, stepping back. “I’ll get the setting spray.”
You left the room with your kit, missing the way his smile lingered even after you turned away.
The second the door closed, the atmosphere shifted.
“Ohhh,” Jiung sang. “Did you see that smile?”
Keeho groaned. “Stop.”
“You’re smiling like you just won the lottery,” Intak teased. “Hyung likes her."
“No, I don’t,” he lied immediately, too fast. “She’s just good at her job.”
“Sure,” Intak laughed. “That’s why you sat still for twenty minutes like a statue.”
Keeho rubbed his face, flustered. “She’s just… nice, okay? And talented. And easy to talk to.”
“And pretty,” Jiung added.
There was a pause.
“…Yeah,” Keeho admitted quietly. “Pretty too.”
You stood frozen in the hallway, setting spray forgotten in your hand. Heat rushed to your face so fast it made you dizzy. Your heart raced, loud in your ears. They kept talking, unaware.
“You’re down bad,” Soul said. “You smile every time she breathes.”
Keeho sighed, long and helpless. “Yeah, yeah I know...she's just so gentle, and she listens, and when she laughs, it feels like the room gets warmer. I don’t think she sees me like that, though.”
Your breath caught.
“I don’t want to make it awkward,” he continued, softer now. “She deserves to feel comfortable. So I’ll just… keep it to myself.”
Your hands trembled. You pressed them together, trying to calm the blush burning across your cheeks. You had spent weeks thinking your feelings were one-sided, something quiet and silly you carried alone. Hearing his voice say those words cracked something open inside you.
You took a steadying breath and stepped back into the room.
The conversation died instantly.
Keeho looked up and met your eyes. For a split second, panic flashed across his face, then something gentler. Hope, maybe. You smiled at him, warmer than before, and walked back to your spot.
“Sorry,” you said lightly. “Got held up.”
You lifted the spray and leaned in, closer than necessary. Your touch softened without you meaning it to. You adjusted a stray hair near his temple, fingers lingering just a second longer. He swallowed and smiled again, just as shy.
“You look good,” you murmured.
“Thanks,” he replied, voice quieter now. “Obviously thanks to you tho."
Your eyes met in the mirror. Neither of you looked away.
This time, the smiles matched.
Theo
Practice ran long, sweat clinging to skin and mirrors fogging slightly with heat. You stood in formation behind them, muscles burning, heart oddly light. Every time the music restarted, you felt it. Theo’s gaze found yours like it was instinct, not accident. Just a second too long. Just enough to notice.
When your eyes met, he looked away immediately.
His ears turned pink. Again.
You hid your smile and focused on the choreography, but the awareness stayed. When you moved closer during transitions, you felt him tense, then relax. When you passed behind him, his shoulders lifted like he was holding his breath. In the mirror, you caught him glancing back, cheeks flushed, lips pressed together like he was trying very hard not to grin.
During the break, you grabbed your water bottle and excused yourself, heading toward the hallway and the restroom. The studio door closed behind you, music cutting off. You splashed water on your face, trying to calm the flutter in your chest. You told yourself you were imagining things. Theo was always polite. Always focused.
You headed back.
As you approached the studio, laughter spilled through the door. You slowed without thinking.
“Yah,” Keeho said, unmistakably amused. “You need to control your face.”
There was a thump, followed by a startled laugh.
“Hey,” Theo protested. “What was that for?”
“Reality check,” Keeho replied cheerfully. “Because you keep staring at her like she’s the choreography.”
Your steps stopped completely.
“I’m not,” Theo said, flustered. “I was just… checking spacing.”
“Sure,” another voice chimed in. “Spacing. With heart eyes.”
Theo laughed again, softer this time. “You’re seeing things.”
Keeho didn’t let it go. “You like her. It’s obvious. You blush every time she looks at you.”
There was a pause. You held your breath.
Theo sighed quietly. “She’s a backup dancer. She’s professional. She wouldn’t… you know. She’s just doing her job.”
Your heart started beating faster, loud and wild. He didn’t deny it. He just sounded resigned.
“And even if I did like her,” he added gently, “I wouldn’t do anything. I don’t want to make things uncomfortable. She probably doesn’t see me that way.”
Your chest tightened, then warmed all at once. You pressed your hand to your sternum, grounding yourself. You had spent so long convincing yourself the same thing. That it was impossible. That he was out of reach.
You took a steady breath and opened the door.
Conversation cut off instantly.
All eyes turned toward you. You smiled like nothing had happened and stepped inside, stretching your arms lightly.
“Break over?” you asked casually.
Theo looked at you, eyes wide for half a second before he nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, let’s go again.”
Music started up. You returned to formation, heart still racing but steps steady. When the choreography shifted, you let yourself drift just a little closer to him than before. Not enough to break spacing. Just enough to be intentional.
During the next count, you turned your head and smiled at him. Not polite. Not neutral. Bright. Open.
Theo faltered for half a beat.
Then he smiled back, slow and surprised, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The blush returned, deeper now, spreading across his cheeks. His shoulders relaxed, movements smoother, lighter.
When you passed him again, your fingers brushed his hand. On purpose.
He inhaled sharply, eyes following you as you moved away, something hopeful blooming behind them.
The practice continued, but everything felt different. Lighter. Charged.
And this time, when your eyes met, neither of you looked away.
Jiung
You worked in the studio long enough to know the rhythm of the days. Music thumping through walls, voices overlapping, coffee cups multiplying on every flat surface. That morning felt normal until Jiung walked in carrying a cardboard tray filled with drinks, the smell of roasted beans cutting through the air.
Keeho reached for one immediately. Soul did too. Jongseob leaned over, eyeing the last cup.
Just as Jongseob’s fingers brushed the lid, Jiung swatted his hand away.
“That one’s not for you,” Jiung said, firm but amused.
Jongseob blinked. "Huh?”
Jiung pointed at the cup like it was evidence. “This one's for y/n.”
Everyone froze for half a second.
“It's just cofee? What's so special about it?” Jongseob asked, suspicious.
Jiung shrugged casually, like his heart wasn’t absolutely on display. “Two Espresso shots, low fat whipped cream and one pump of hazelnut syrup. I know how she likes it.”
Your name hung in the air.
You stood a few steps away, stunned, then smiled wide without thinking. “You do?” you asked, warmth flooding your chest. “Thank you, Jiung.”
He looked at you and softened instantly. “Of course.”
You took the cup from him, fingers brushing lightly, and murmured another thank you before heading toward the kitchen. Your smile stayed plastered on your face the whole way, heart fluttering like it was trying to escape.
You grabbed a napkin from the counter and paused when you heard voices behind you.
“You guys saw that?” Jongseob said, barely holding back laughter. “The way he protected her coffee.”
He mimicked Jiung, swatting an invisible hand away. “‘That one's not for you."
Jiung laughed, embarrassed. “Stop.”
Soul spoke next, calm and observant. “It’s sooo obvious you like her.”
There was a brief silence.
Jiung sighed and leaned back against something. “Maybe. But she’s nice to everyone. I don’t think it means anything.”
Your chest tightened.
Keeho hummed thoughtfully, but said nothing. Jongseob scoffed. “You don’t remember everyone’s coffee order.”
Jiung chuckled quietly. “Well it's quite easy tho...not really complicated."
You stared down at the napkin in your hands, smile fading. You liked him. A lot. You had since the first week you worked there, when he smiled at you like you mattered even during chaos. The idea that he thought your kindness was just… general hurt more than you expected.
You took a breath, squared your shoulders, and walked back into the room.
The boys looked up immediately.
You smiled again, softer this time, and held up the coffee cup. “Seriously, thank you. You didn’t have to remember that.”
Jiung met your eyes and smiled back, gentle and genuine. “I wanted to.”
You hesitated for half a second, heart pounding, then spoke before you could talk yourself out of it.
“Next time you get coffee,” you said lightly, “maybe I could come with you.”
Jiung blinked.
Surprise crossed his face, quick and unguarded. Then his smile widened, brighter than before. “Yeah,” he said, a little breathless. “I’d really like that.”
Intak
The styling room buzzed with quiet activity, racks of clothes lining the walls and accessories spread neatly across the table. You moved between the members with practiced ease, fingers quick and precise as you adjusted jackets and smoothed fabric. When you stepped in front of Intak, he froze just a little, posture straightening like he had been caught off guard.
He stared for a second too long.
“You… uh,” he started, then cleared his throat. “Your hair. You cut it, right?”
You blinked, surprised. Most people didn’t notice details like that. “Yeah,” you said, touching the ends instinctively. “I did.”
“It looks good,” he said quickly, eyes bright. “Like, really good.”
You smiled, warmth blooming in your chest. “Thank you. I didn’t think anyone would notice.”
“I did,” he replied, almost too softly, then broke into a wide grin that made his eyes crinkle.
You laughed and adjusted the collar of his outfit, unaware of how hard his heart was pounding. When you finished with him, you excused yourself to grab some accessories from the storage room down the hall.
The moment you stepped outside, voices drifted through the slightly open door.
“Can you make it more obvious?” Jiung said, amused. “Complimenting her like that.”
Intak groaned. “I was just being nice.”
Keeho snorted. “You’ve been ‘just being nice’ for weeks. You turn into a statue every time she talks to you.”
There was a pause, then Intak muttered, “I don’t know. What if it’s weird? She’s working. I don’t want to make her uncomfortable.”
“You’re already swooning,” Keeho replied without mercy. “You’ve been down bad since the last shoot.”
Your breath caught. Heat rushed to your cheeks, your grip tightening on the accessories you held. You leaned against the wall, heart racing. You had spent so much time convincing yourself your feelings were one-sided, something quiet and unreturned. Hearing his name spoken like that made everything spin.
Jiung softened his tone. “Just talk to her. Ask for her number or something. You’ll regret it if you don’t.”
There was a long silence.
“…Okay,” Intak said quietly. “I’ll try.”
You swallowed, steadying yourself, then pushed the door open.
The room went quiet instantly.
You walked back in like nothing had happened, setting the accessories down on the table. “Found them,” you said casually.
Intak looked at you, eyes wide, then nodded a little too fast. “Cool. Uh… thanks.”
You moved back to him and began fixing his outfit, fingers smoothing the fabric at his waist. You felt his gaze on you, nervous energy practically vibrating off him. He opened his mouth, closed it, then tried again.
“So,” he said awkwardly, voice cracking just a bit. “I was wondering if… maybe…”
You looked up at him, patient and gentle. “Yeah?”
He took a breath, summoning every ounce of courage he had. “Would you maybe want to go out sometime? Or… I mean, I could just get your number. If that’s okay.”
You smiled instantly.
“Yes,” you said simply.
He froze. “Wait,” he said, blinking. “Really?”
You nodded, still smiling. “Definitely”
For a second, he just stared at you like he was making sure this wasn’t a prank. Then his face lit up, brighter than the studio lights, a grin spreading so wide it was impossible to miss.
“Really?” he repeated, disbelief and happiness tangled together.
You laughed softly. “Really.”
His shoulders relaxed, tension melting away as he smiled at you like he had just won something precious. The teasing voices behind you faded into the background.
This time, neither of you looked away.
Soul
Soul always stayed a little to the side. Not because he didn’t care, but because caring felt loud inside him. He watched from the edges, leaning against walls or sitting cross-legged on the floor, eyes following you without you noticing. When you joked with the staff or teased one of the members, he smiled to himself. When you laughed, he laughed too, a second later, softer, like an echo meant just for him.
Whenever you talked to him directly, his mind went blank. Words scattered like birds startled from a wire. So he listened instead. He remembered the way you spoke with your hands, the way your eyes crinkled when you smiled. Admiring you from afar felt safer than risking silence.
That day, you stood in the hallway scrolling through your phone, waiting for your cue to head back into the studio. The door nearby was slightly open, voices drifting out casually.
“Bro,” Intak said, exasperated. “You can’t just keep staring at her forever.”
You paused, thumb hovering over your screen.
Soul sighed. “I’m not staring.”
“You are,” Keeho replied immediately. “Lovingly.”
Intak scoffed. “You have zero social skills when it comes to her. Just talk to her.”
There was a pause before Soul spoke again, quieter this time. “My head goes blank when I look at her. I don’t know what to say.”
Your chest tightened.
Keeho hummed thoughtfully. “I’m pretty sure she likes you too.”
Soul let out a small, disbelieving laugh. “She’s extroverted. She talks to everyone. I’m… not like that.”
You frowned, heart sinking just a little. You liked him because he was quiet, because he listened, because his smiles felt real and unforced. The idea that he thought your warmth meant nothing made your chest ache.
You took a breath, tucked your phone away, and pushed the door open.
Conversation stopped immediately.
You stepped inside like nothing had happened, eyes scanning the room until they landed on Soul. He looked up, startled, posture stiffening out of habit. You smiled and walked over before you could overthink it.
“Hey,” you said gently. “You know, I really like your outfit today.”
He blinked. “You do?”
“Yeah,” you continued, eyes sincere. “Your style is really cool. It suits you.”
For a second, he looked completely taken aback, like he hadn’t prepared for this at all. Then his shoulders relaxed, and his face softened. A bright smile spread across his lips, the kind that reached his eyes.
“Thank you,” he said quietly. “You look really nice too.”
You felt warmth bloom in your chest. “Thanks.”
There was a small pause, not awkward, just gentle. Soul shifted his weight, then met your eyes again, courage flickering there.
“I like when you talk,” he added softly. “You make things feel… easier.”
Your smile widened. “I like when you listen. You make things feel calm.”
His cheeks flushed, but he didn’t look away this time. He smiled again, a little shy, a little braver.
Around you, the room resumed its quiet bustle, but something had changed. The space between you felt smaller, lighter. No longer filled with doubt, but with the promise of more words to come.
Jongseob
The studio felt calmer in the evening, lights dimmed low and the city humming faintly outside the windows. You walked down the hallway carefully, a bag of snacks tucked under your arm, smiling to yourself. They had been in there for hours, and you knew at least one of them had forgotten to eat.
Inside, Jongseob sat on the floor with his notebook open, pen tapping against the page as Keeho leaned over the desk and Soul hovered nearby, listening more than speaking.
“I still think we should change that line,” Keeho said, scrolling through the lyrics on his phone. “It’s good, but we could make it hit harder.”
Jongseob shook his head immediately. “No. I want to keep it.”
Keeho raised an eyebrow. “Huh? Why?”
Jongseob hesitated, then shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal. “Y/n said it's good...she likes that part."
You slowed your steps in the hallway.
“Oh did she?” Keeho repeated slowly.
Jongseob nodded, eyes still on the page. “She told me that it sounds honest.”
There was a brief pause. Then Keeho and Soul exchanged a look.
“Oh,” Keeho said, grinning. “So that’s why.”
Soul tilted his head slightly. “You remember what she said word for word.”
Jongseob frowned. “Well yeah...it's Feedback”
Keeho laughed. “Oh so you have a crush.”
Outside the door, you bit your lip to keep from smiling. Your heart warmed in a way you hadn’t expected, fluttering pleasantly in your chest.
“No I don’t,” Jongseob said quickly. “I just… value her opinion.”
Soul’s lips curved into a knowing smile. “You only get defensive like this about her.”
Jongseob sighed, shoulders relaxing as if he’d given up trying to hide it. “She’s pretty, so what” he admitted quietly. “And funny. And easy to talk to. That’s all.”
You felt your cheeks heat up. You shifted the snack bag in your hands, suddenly aware of how loud your heartbeat felt. You had always liked him, admired how thoughtful he was, how seriously he listened when you spoke. Hearing him say that made something settle gently inside you.
You took a breath and stepped into the room.
“Hey,” you said casually, lifting the bag. “I brought snacks.”
All three of them looked up.
Keeho’s grin widened instantly. “Perfect timing.”
Soul smiled at you softly. “Thank you.”
You handed the snacks around, then wandered closer to where Jongseob sat, eyes drifting to the lyrics spread out in front of him. He glanced up at you, a little nervous, then relaxed when you smiled back.
“You’re still working on this part?” you asked, pointing to the section they had been debating.
“Yeah,” Keeho said. “Since someone refuses to change it.”
You tilted your head, reading it again. “I really like it,” you said thoughtfully. “It’s my favorite part. It feels real.”
Jongseob looked up at Keeho with a small, triumphant grin. “See?”
Keeho laughed and raised his hands. “Alright, i got it. The lyric stays.”
Jongseob’s eyes flicked back to you, warmth unmistakable now. “I’m glad you think so.”
You smiled, meeting his gaze. “I meant what I said before.”
For a moment, the room felt quieter, softer. Jongseob ducked his head, cheeks faintly pink, but he was smiling too. Not shy this time. Proud. Certain.
And tucked between lines of lyrics and shared glances, something new settled in, just as honest as the words he refused to change.
