Growing up as the middle child between two vastly different siblings, Seraphina often felt torn between extremes. Screwball was carefree and embraced her chaotic nature, while Zaney had an easier time blending in. Seraphina, on the other hand, wanted to fit in but also feared losing a part of herself by suppressing her magic. As a filly, she had several incidents where her powers got out of hand, like turning Sugarcube Corner inside out or making Ponyville’s lake flow backwards.
These accidents made her self-conscious, and for a while, she tried to suppress her abilities. However, with encouragement from Fluttershy, Discord, and Twilight, she is slowly learning that chaos doesn’t have to be destructive. It can also be creative and wondrous. Twilight often struggles to teach her using traditional methods, leading to a lot of trial and error. Despite this, Seraphina admires Twilight and works hard to prove that she can use her magic responsibly. She often gets frustrated when compared to her siblings, but Twilight reassures her that she has a unique path to follow.
