“Multiple reasons. I guess the main one is some personal issues he has. I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but Steven had his own damn kids. He claims they are alive, though they aren't. He wished to go to Colorado to at least see them again. Or what's left of them. I say it like that since, y'know. His restaurant burned down; while he escaped, his kids didn't. Another huge reason he's scared of fires or letting any of our kids too far out of his sight. He knows that Jack and Dave won't come back, though he has a lingering fear. He hates those two. Yeah. They were shitty workers, but they also killed his damn kids, hell. The orange one fuckin told the older brother where to shove his younger brother's head. Thankfully, Steven stopped him. Anywho. That's why he doesn't stay around me at times. I smell of smoke, which.. y'know—but back to the point at hand. He barely escaped himself. He had to go to the factory to get fixed up. Another reason bein' his own dad, I guess. Especially with William. He doesn't want to end up like you know who. It's the same with all his kids, of course. But I've seen it mainly with him, especially from what he's said. He sees himself as the kid. The fact William sorta snaps at em' does help. He realizes that he's fucked up. He doesn't want to live up to his middle name. He's half way there, sucks to say, sure, but considering the way he is with the restaurant.”
