A Merry Christmas to all our Readers!
Hotspur No. 949, dated 24 December 1977. A good line-up this issue included two stories drawn by Ron Smith. The first was 'The Beetles of Doom' as featured on the cover.
The second was Flying Fury about a "mysteriously different" World War 2 fighter pilot. Also in this issue was the Victorian London set Spring-Heeled Jackson with art by Dave Gibbons.

Inside the strip 'Flying Fury' reached its conclusion. The strip had mainly been drawn by Ron Smith (who had departed for Judge Dredd at this point) but the closing episodes featured art by Keith Shone.
Plus news of the latest Hotspur Annual. These hardback books were ideal Christmas presents in UK households for many years.
