1. Only A Memory

This song is Cody towards McLeach, while what happened to him was incredibly traumatizing, it hasn’t destroyed him. As he’s gotten older he’s worked to move past what’s happened to him. 

2. Brave Shine

Cody’s thoughts on who he’s become after the incident and how hard he’s worked to overcome it. He wants to be strong for the people in his life and keep them safe, though he does understand there are limits to what he can do. 

3. You Will Be Found

This song has the general vibe for how Cody has felt having a proper support system in place. With everyone in his life helping him relearn how to be around people and feel less anxious. Thanks to everyone he’s never really felt alone in his trauma. 

4. Rising

Penny is his closest friend and one of the few people who actually understands what he went through. With her he believes they can both grow past this and move forward with their lives. He knows she has big dreams and he wants to do all he can to support her.

5. Light

This song has the vibe for a group of people coming together to move past all the darkness back into the light. Which is how Cody feels around @detectivenewhart, @detectivegabor, and @littledetectivepenny.

6. Let Me Try

Final song is bout a young guy trying to tell his guardians he wants to support them as much as they’ve supported him. Which is true for Cody, he wants to make both Bernard and Bianca proud.

You’re youthful, full of warmth, happiness and everything that has cracked at the edges in this wise and old body. Opportunities oozes from your every pore as the sun graces your skin that is littered with tender stars, making the youth that is you become clearer and more radiant. It’s clear that chains linger around your ankles, chains with heavy weights connected and a string to me, for I, I am the reason, I am the person who binds and holds and I am to blame, taking freedom like it’s delivered on a silver platter for me to toy with, for me to hold, squeeze and play with, but it’s wrong, it’s wrong to hold and chain - it’s selfish even if it’s out of pure love, even if anything else would break me like a stone smashing into glass.

“Chocolate?” The witch spoke with a quirk of an eye brow, offering the open bag of strawberry chocolates over to Remus, fresh out of Sugarplum’s sweet shop. “Now they’re my favourite so I hope you fully appreciate the amount of love this really is coming from me here.” Marlene teased a smile on her face as she handed the bag of treats over to him. “Now I’ve been having a think, a general ponder if you will, about your love life. Clearly as the boys have been failing you miserably as wing men; my offer to be your personal wing woman still very much stands.” The witch offered, popping one of the chocolates from her hand into her mouth as they strolled. “And before you say no just listen. Remus John Lupin, if anyone deserves to find someone, even just a glimmer of something; then you are one of the most deserving. And don’t make me punch you saying the sweets have made me soft.” Marlene spoke with a kind smile as she glanced up at him by her side. Maybe of all the four boys, Remus was always the one that Marlene was softer around. While she’d have no issue punching any of the others, rightfully she might add - they normally deserved it, putting words to action were never really in the question with Remus in Marlene’s mind. They were merely words of jest. “Besides I have to live vicariously through someone else while my love life is the travesty it currently is.” The witch teased nudging him lightly. “So what do you say?”

"I hope you and Adairia are offering two for one drinks after this is over, I feel like some of them will need it.” Marlene mused as she took another glance at the crowd with a concerned expression laced across her features. She could already feel the lingering whispers on purists lips of words that hung in the air. Utters of ‘mud-blood’ and ‘filthy creatures’ hung in shadows despite the message of today supposedly positive, supposed to be...hopeful; it felt somehow uneasy some how. With everything that had happened over the past few months, it almost felt like Marlene always prepared for the worst at this point. Of course the witch would have been there regardless of Dumbledore, for Remus, for Mary and for everyone that didn’t feel brave enough in a society that deemed them less than; but if even Dumbledore had told them to be vigilant then it didn’t sit well with her. “Maybe we’ll all need it. I know it’s a silly question to ask the infamous Laurel Linwood of all people but still.. how are you? If you give me a simple pleasant ‘I’m fine’, I’m making you down three shots later.”

Where: Muggle London, Clothing Store

“No-” Marlene called from across the store, setting down the rings she’d been playing with as a disgusted expression pulled across her face towards the garment in his hand. “Don’t even think about it put it down Potter. Do you want to look like the backside of a Erumpent?” The witch asked with a quirk of a brow. “I say this because I care about you, no one’s going to want to shag you if you wear- .. whatever that is. For the love of Merlin, don’t let Mary see you anywhere near it. It would be a cry for help. Honestly I thought you’d have better taste by now.” The witch spoke sarcastically a teasing smirk pulling onto her features as she quirked an eye brow at the rest of the muggle shirts, only to pull out one equally if not more garish than the last. “Now this on the other hand, is a different story. Reckon I could convince Black to wear it to the Leaky Cauldron later? Might give all those snooty witches something to talk about. If anything, it’ll give us and Peter a good laugh.”

Where: Lily and Marlene’s apartment

“You and Potter might as well go out without me tonight. I think I’d rather linger in my own misery.” Marlene muttered dramatically, words lased with sarcasm as she gave a general shake of her head in Peter’s direction. Typically gossip would not have been the thing that threw Marlene’s mind into a spin, atleast not when it was about her. She’d pass it off with a charming smile, wink at anyone that dared stare and call it at day. Because granted a small part of her had to admit that she revealed in the attention it brought. What was it her mother always said? It was better to be talked about than not at all; even if it wasn’t necessarily for the best reasons. But this was different. It weighed over Marlene like an unwanted shadow and reflected the very fears she harbored in her chest. Stolen glances at the ball had made her feel like she was hexed with the kiss of death itself, a part of her was starting to think what if they were right? Not to mind her conversation with James to top it off, it hadn’t exactly been the night she’d hoped it would be, to which Pettigrew had almost gotten the brunt of her insecurities being blabbed in his direction. Thankfully in Marlene’s case, the pair had been interrupted before she’d even had the chance to ask him if there was something wrong with her, if all she’d ever be was someone’s second best, someone’s play thing, someone’s.. nothing. Instead they grew deeper in her heart under a lock and key as she tip a sip of the black coffee in her hand. “I’m guessing you saw what she put? Rita?” Marlene asked, drawing her eyes up from the mug in her hand to one of her best friends.

Cody was trying to slowly hype himself up on a bench, a few feet from the entrance to Handy Felix’s. Bernard had said Felix was a good guy and that he was nice, and Bernard never lied or treated him with kid’s gloves so it had to be true. Still that didn’t make things any easier on him right now. Older men had become a problem for him after his ‘incident’ to put it lightly. He’d been working on it for the past four years, slowly he’d gotten more adjusted to being able to interact with them one on one but it was still a process. Standing up he shrugged off his jitters as best he could, keeping one hand on his backpack strap and the other in his pocket fidgeting with his mini controller. The mini thumb stick helped settle his remaining nerves as he walked in. 

Bernard had said Felix would be working register today so he headed straight there careful to avoid any of the other male employees. He’d swung by in the past, but he always had someone with him to do all the talking. Stopping at the register he was grateful to see the man manning it had a name tag saying Felix. “Um,” spit it out he thought bitterly. He knew he should be making eye contact but instead he only managed to speak while staring at the counter keeping to the script he’d come up with, “Good afternoon Mr.Fix, I’m Cody Eagle and a Thunder Scout. I wanted to ask for your assistance for my eagle scout project.”
