FLYING WHALES

This has been my latest obsession

In my dnd setting, there's a flock of flying whales migrating from the Feywild to the Northern Cost once every year and me loving whales and loving the concept of whales swimming out of the sea into the sky bc of the Feywild's magic and becoming consequently purple birthed three paintings of them (top one is the latest one)

Party finally got to meet them, after seeing their migration depleted and a whale cemetery right in the heart of the Feywild, and manage to ride a whale cub(?) too

These are the other ones (from March and last year)

Funfact, although I mostly post hollow knight in here, I spend most of my time thinking, writing, drawing and scheming for my own dnd homebrew campaign

Etoile (? well it started with a human design of her but I took some liberty) : the human with the piercings, purple hair and vitiligo (tho we don't see her vitiligo very well on the photo).

I really like the concept of whimsical flying whales and I especially love @friendlyfoxpal ‘s mountain whales

The back gradient is literally an instagram beach photograph from google I Gaussian blurred beyond recognition TwT. As for the whales, I traced screenshots from this amazing model https://skfb.ly/oyVAA . There’s Alto and and a very pixelated Aloe there too :’)

I tried giving the whales bear paws and bear front legs, seeing how they have paws and maybe it would look whimsically bizarre, but I couldn’t really pull it off ^^’ so I tried giving them seal flipper like fins instead, with pwetty lil claws 💅
