I am really really loving it so far. I’m about half way through and I’m not ready to have to wait a whole year for more. I guess it is possible if I remembered the exact plot of the books after all this time I might be upset about the changes to plot.

Yeah I love it too! I’m not upset about the changes, I think they add to the plot actually and I feel like they might fill in some unanswered questions (although knowing Lemony Snicket, it will probably just end up creating more questions haha)

Is it weird to say that it all seems so familiar? Like I’ve already seen this before even though it is absolutely new. It’s a very odd sensation, but I assume that’s just because I’m remembering parts of the books. I also am loving the juxtaposition of color they have used in set design and costuming. I think it is absolutely genius.

I totally understand what you mean! and I think it helps that some lines are taken directly out of the books and also some of the imagery is similar to what I remember of the movie? (but I could be wrong on that, I’ve only seen the movie once) and yea the set design and colors are amazing, it really helps make the tone kind of comical even though it’s so sad. and i love how it goes with the ambiguous time setting too!

I’m currently finishing the second part of The Reptile Room, but I didn’t have time to read the books again before watching so I’m literally doing this from my 11 year old memory

i reread them last year i think before atwq 4 came out? but honestly a lot of it is really true to the books while simultaneously changing MAJOR parts so im interested to see how they’ll make this work!
