fmab fandom truly is an echo chamber its the same 5 people and their army of followers repeating the same five (shallow) mantras to each other and patting themselves on the back for it while simultaneously being weirdly passive aggressive to anyone who even slightly criticizes their Holy Book (fmab) or their Actual Deity (arakawa). like for a fandom surrounding a story supposedly about the dangers of seeking godhood yall have deified arakawa to the point that you make it sound like fmab is this rock solid uncritiquable scripture and that anyone who does is a Heretic. like she is a normal fucking woman. we can criticize her. we can criticize her work. its fine. its really fucking fine. so sorry im not joining The Cult of Arakawa and engaging with her work like a normal fucking person lmfao

For anyone wondering, @humanedspresso and I are friends, have been and still are and nothing in that discourse post was meant or taken personally. I haven't been in the fandom as long so I'm not as familiar with the more toxic side of EdWin shipping like he and @drrockbell are. I also have personal reason why posts about EdWin being abusive get under my skin. I lost a Tumblr friendship over a particularly bad one.

I want to apologize to @thornstone8773 for hijacking their post. I also want to thank drrockbell, @sad-fullmetal , @literaturework for their thoughtful contributions to the discussion. Also sorry to anyone who follows me for the pretty Ed pics and arts who was bothered but the sudden introduction of shipping discourse. I have a seperate blog for that and that's where it belongs. hey guys! i get that we may not all have the same views on certain fandom-related things, but never, ever, tell someone to kill themself. it’s just cruel and wrong and it puts you in the perfect spot for blame. don’t be mean ok? just block, block, block and cope, cope, cope.

As many amazing people there are in it, there’s also a helluva lot of horribly toxic people. Over ten wonderful people left because of harassment just last year.

Look, I don’t fuckin care if you ship r/o/y/e/d or not, but don’t bully people because of it!! Some ships are problematic, yes, and they can be gross too. And you may justify it as “wanting to help those who were abused”, but harassment???? Helps nobody???

What you SHOULD do, is block them and never speak to them. That helps both parties. If you don’t have the same ships or views or ideas as someone else, then just. Don’t. Communicate. Stop fucking causing drama and making people hate themselves.

A good way to be an anti-shipper???? That one blog that lists users that ship the “problematic” ships. They don’t harass the shippers, they don’t tell others to harass them, they just list them in case people want to block them. THAT is a good way to be an anti. NOT CALLOUT POSTS, NOT BULLYING, JUST. BLOCK. THEM.

Also @ that specific blog I’m talking about, please if you must, put me on the list, too!! I don’t want to potentially trigger someone for something that I ship. I really don’t care about the follower count, I’m only on tumblr to reblog the things I like. No, I’m not a pedophile and no, I’m not in love with any of my family members, and no I’ve never abused anyone in a relationship. I’m also a minor.

All I want, for every fandom, is everyone to be happy. The people that like one thing go in one corner, the people that like another thing go in a different corner, etc. And then they just never communicate! And that’s okay! Surround yourself with people that you’re comfortable with.

But that’s probably never going to happen. Every fandom has its own toxic group. And /everyone/ is at least a little petty. That’s just how it is.

Don’t let my views change yours, think what you want to, but I’m just stating it how it is in my perspective. This is my blog, and I’m allowed to post my thoughts. Thank you for letting me rant about this, anon.

What's Kimblee's moral alignment?

My first instinct is to say he's Chaotic Evil although some people have profiled him to be Lawful Evil around the net due to his semi-organized nature. I can safely say most attest to the Chaotic variant since it's shown often in the show that he likes to act of his own volition in key moments, hence the chaotic element. He merely works in organized effort with the homunculi to a certain extent as a means to get closer to his agenda, but at the end of the day, the dude just loves killing for killing's sake, and destroying simply because he can- of his own free will.

Also, with that last post abt Edwin, like...was it ever stated that Ed doesn't take breaks from traveling to be with his family for long periods of time? Like, okay, my dad occasionally has to travel for work. He's gone for a few weeks, but for 90% of the year he's Right by my mom. That's the kind of traveling I see Ed doing after they have kids, especially when Winry's pregnant/the kids are babies. (Sorry for yelling about this, ignore if u want)

Yeah, that post is just someone bitterly pouring their vision of things onto something and deciding that everyone who disagrees is just blind and can't see that it's not cute at all and instead is bad parenting or whatever.

They apparently don't know very well what it means to be a parent - you don't 'cancel' yourself as a human being when you have a lover or a child, you're still a person with your hobbies, your rights, your passions, you're not just a puppet there for someone else.

Imagine how bad it would sound in real life - or in smaller size, imagine how bad it'd sound if someone said that the moment Winry has children she can't be a mechanic anymore and must be a mother full-time.

It's just a bad post in general, but at the same time, please don't go harass them for it - if they change their mind it's better, if they don't there's no need to go and pester them, blocking exists and it's better for everyone.
