OK I love blime just as much as the next guy (I'm a polyskeld shipper and blime def has one of my favorite dynamics!!) but OH MY GODDDD can blime shippers stfu PLEASE 😭 I posted aliencrystal on TikTok and got a comment being like "Its lime x cyan but i want blime :((" I DONT GIVE FUCK. GO FIND BLIME SOMEWHERE ELSE. BETTER YET GO TO ONE OF MY OTHER VIDEOS BECAUSE I *HAVE BLIME CONTENT ON MY PAGE.*
Blime isn't the only Lime ship allowed to exist.
(I specify Lime here because it's mostly on Lime ship videos—Its not much better with Blue but these people seem to be at least a LITTLE more tolerant of it when its Blue?)
My biggest ick is when people try to justify not shipping male and female characters by saying "no they're found family!!! they're siblings!! you can't ship them" orrrr, maybe they're just friends? why do they have to be siblings? they can't not think about fucking each other unless they're related? maybe they're just a man and a woman that don't like each other I think that's possible it happened to a friend once,
I wasn't going to say anything about the hellfire discourse but everybody seems to be saying their piece now so what the hell. Personally I think ppl should be allowed to ship whatever. You never know what someone has been through, and a lot of ppl ship problematic things to try to process their past traumas. It's none of my business really! Like I've seen ppl say, you should block the things that you don't want to see. This is the thing I don't think enough ppl are talking about though. If someone sees your ship and is grossed out by the way you talk about it, they can still reply or vaguepost about it if they want to??? If you don't like them disagreeing with your ship then maybe you should be blocking them. It reminds me of how ppl online get all mad about free speech and how they should be allowed to say anything anytime they want to. Yeah you can say anything but that doesn't mean ppl won't hold you accountable you know? If someone is saying they hate hellfire when you like it and that makes you feel like you're being cyber bullied, you should take your own advice and block them, instead of ordering them to block you. They're allowed to talk about hating your ship just as much as your allowed to talk about loving it. I don't usually post but after reading @carliecue's essay today, I'm tired of watching the same group boss everybody else around. I want to make sure it's clear that I rly think ppl should be allowed to ship whatever they want without being harassed, but I think it's also true that someone posting to their own blog about how much they hate your favorite ship isn't them bullying you. Also if you always post criticism, you should get used to getting it too. It's good practice for real life!!!!
sometimes shipping is just putting together your two favorite characters and i condone that
Mfs will see their fav ship get hate and start crying abt how it's more hated than racism or some shit like omg nigga stfuuuuu
I know shipping is meant for fun and all, but we all have to admit it gets to the point where you’re blatantly disrespecting a character and/or the people they represent.
Nico Goldstein from Devil May Cry? Hinted as aroace. She states in the novel that she has never found people beautiful until she met Kyrie, and then she goes on to say that Kyrie sort of reminds her of her dead mom a little bit, but still ship her with Kyrie and Nero.
Then there is Ada Wong and Claire Redfield from Resident Evil, who are so associated with Leon that they are hated on because someone likes the other with Leon more. People are pushing to have Leon put into RE: Veronica simply because Claire is there, as if she isn’t her own character.
Even the writers of Ninjago were disrespecting Harumi’s and lowkey Lloyd’s character (for protecting her despite her trying to kill his family a second time) by having her start to disregard the fact that she blamed Lloyd for her parent’s deaths by having her worry about him and giving them moments throughout the season.
I won’t even go into the problems with spardacest (by my definition- Shipping Dante, Nero, Vergil, Sparda, or Trish together in some way) beyond the fact Nero very clearly is in love with Kyrie and NOT his dad, uncle, or Trish (who is an exact look alike to his grandmother).
And these are all just examples that come straight to mind. There are plenty of people who disregard a character’s canon sexuality to ship them with someone, demonize the person they are canonically with/most shipped with to make another ship look better, genderbend certain characters to make a ship straight or gay (yes I have problem with changing characters because it’s either homophobic or a slight chance that it’s a fetishization of the queer community. Because Why do some people feel the need to make a character a different gender to like a ship?), or make a character’s entire worth or personality about the person they are shipped with.
