"there's this move i can't get down -- i know how it goes, and i do it all the time, but when i have to, like, put it into the dance i just mess up. it's like my whole body wants to move at once."
yohan stands off the edge, watching his reflection as his hips sway and his arms fold above his head. in silence, he hears the music and the notes are clear -- they run up his legs, settle in his bones; they move his joints for him, trigger a seamless array of motions. and it looks smooth on the mirror, but something is off; it nags at him. it forces him to sigh, to turn, to look at how haejin has curled up in the corner of the room.
"we learned it without platform shoes but we have to wear them for the performance -- the arch just messes me up so bad." he moves closer to haejin, looks at him with a quiet smile.
"thanks for letting me bring him again. i feel bad, he's gotten really good at waiting -- he doesn't even notice me practicing any more.
"remember when he was really small? when i took you to meet him that one time my mom visited and he was, like, six months old? he was so tiny. we were so scared to hold him."
