                  being a trainee for as long as he was, jaeeun thought that his debt to the company will never end. it accumulated after years and years as he signed the contract. he even had to pay back the debt he owed the previous company that signed him. it was one of the reasons why he had worked part-time, jugging school, work and trainee life. it came to the point where one or the other would be focused on less. more often than not, it was school and jaeeun eventually dropped out of it in order to pursue his dream. the thing he was truly passionate about.

                    standing there, looking at the papers that he had collected throughout the years, he saw the numbers grow smaller and smaller. until today, he didn’t think he would ever be close to paying any of it. but here he was, only a few months left until completing his goal. his heart swelled with awe and pride. this wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for the people who believed in him and most especially, knight’s fans. sniffling a little, he picked up his phone and quickly dialed a number. she was one of the people that truly pushed him towards the right direction. numerous times, when he chose to save money instead of eating, she would extend her generosity towards not only him, but others. and she was the first person jaeeun wanted to share the good news with.

                      “noona,” he greeted, feeling choked with emotion. “i’m almost there. i can finally pay the company back.”

the mood was low. the keyboardist looking sullen, as he slid across from his fri- his fake girlfriend ? an odd way to refer to hyeon. seeing as the company was the one who pushed it towards this whole idea. the whole backlash itself was odd to see, being told he was putting his personal life before the band. when in reality taegon didn’t have any romantic interest towards anyone - but alas, the company knew best right ? 

“ here i bought us something to eat, since you didn’t complain about being starving as per usual, i thought you must be that fucked up. so come on eat, it’s on me.”

Time: 7:48 AM Setting: HJH Entertainment Headquarters  Date: 2012 Characters: Minjun + Hyeon

It’s early in the morning and Minjun has no idea why he, along with the rest of Halcyon, were called in before noon, and in all honestly, he didn’t really care. He wasn’t in the mood to listen to whatever it was that needed to be discussed. They’d just finished promotions for Sherlock a few months prior, and he was sure that they weren’t going to be discussing another comeback already. They tended to give them more than just a few months in between promotions to recoup from it all, but you never know these days. It wasn’t until a few moments into the meeting that they were told that they would be overseeing trainees for the day, and Minjun felt his expression drop. They called them over early as hell just so they could do the label’s job? He didn’t say anything the entire time they walked over to the practice rooms, his coffee gripped tightly in his hand with his mask tucked under his chin so he could take a few sips from it every now and then. The reaction they received when they stepped into the practice room is a little humorous, even to Minjun. The collective intake of breath, followed by a few screams here and there. He and his members bowed while saying their greeting, before they began to break off into smaller groups. Luckily the practice room they walked into only had fifteen or so trainees, so it was small groups and each Halcyon member only had three trainees to deal with. He sat down on the floor with his coffee in front of the younger, soon to be idols, breathing out a sigh. “So, tell me about yourselves. Don’t be shy, we’re all family here now.”

what would you say is your most admirable feature/trait?

“that’s a hard one… i guess my stubbornness?” the rapper snorted in response. he was sure there was a better word to describe his hard-headed personality, but stubborn seemed to be good enough to get his point across. “i don’t know how else i would have survived under redlight for the past eight years.” although from his tone it sounded like he was joking, anyone who really knew how the company worked would know the bitter reality behind his words.

✿: what my muse would like to do when they’re older

           “well, i would hope i’d still be an idol when i’m older,” he gives a breathy laugh. that was, if redlight music was actually ever going to decide to debut him. “but maybe when i’m older and too old to be deemed an idol and maybe i have a family of sorts, maybe i’ll like.. be a songwriter still.. possibly a producer since i’m studying music production.”

               “other than my members and family…i can say it’s hyeon. she’s one of the first people in the company who welcomed me. we’ve trained together and even hang out a lot in our free time. she’s a constant presence in my life and i would honestly feel at a loss if she wasn’t around. she’s not that much older than me as well so when we met, we dropped formalities almost immediately so we have a very comfortable relationship.”
