(RP 4222) Major Project Drawing: Drawing Game
When I was on an online chat with my friends, we decided to play a game where we were given a character from a game, show, film, and were given 10 minutes to draw them, then afterwards re-draw them in 3 minutes. This was quite fun to do. Whilst doing life drawing; timing myself forces me to study the figure and form of the human body and find the best and quickest way to draw it, so doing characters from from different shows and game made me do something similar, I had to study how the original artist drew the character and quickly figure out how to draw the basic shapes. I particularly found it the hardest to draw the character on the second sheet (Top Right) I am not sure what show they are from, but since I am not to use to drawing anime like characters. What was hardest for me was that the character had a happy like expression, but their mouth was just wide open, so I had no idea how the artist conveyed that. Looking back at it, I think they made the top of the mouth have a little bit of a curve, which gives of a little smile. very subtle, but quite effective.
I also did some random sketches during the chat (those at the very top of the first sheet, and the ones at the very bottom of the third sheet) I am trying to make it more of a instinct little hobby thing I do now with sketching. I think it is working so far, and hopefully when I get to animating, I will have more of a natural instinct to sketching out the characters pose to pose in the animation.
