( cauldron ) what is your favorite thing to cook?

“i don’t cook very often so …” if her parents wanted her to cook more every time she visited the family home, she would definitely be more confident in talking about it. she knows enough, but not enough to please her need to be good at everything she does. “i don’t have a lot to cook i guess? the easiest thing for me to make is probably kimchi fried rice, so considering my schedule that’s probably a favorite? some sukiyaki once in awhile is also something i like to make.”

( hocus pocus ) what is the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard?

“one time someone told me i was ugly and got plastic surgery. like, wake up please.”

“ghosts, not really.” she shrugs, rolling her eyes. “don’t know what the big fuss is when it comes to ghosts. they’re interesting, and hearing people’s supposed encounters with them are interesting, but them wasting their time to stay on earth to haunt people? yeah — fuck that. that’s bullshit and we all know it.” unless a ghost does the most to prove its’ existence, the whole movie experience, maybe she’ll be swayed. “aliens … maybe, i guess. no one can prove if they’re real or not. however, supernatural creatures are obviously not real. people need to get out of their twilight fantasies.”

timid assumptions

     the moon was the only visible light from the heavens tonight. lamentably, stars hid under the dark blanket of the night, in constant combat with the fervent lights of the city of seoul. stars were not as shy in gangwon; they were brilliant and sharp. dabin missed living under that sky. 

     she had forgotten her wallet, leaving her no choice but to use up any leftover cash and walk the rest of the way to their dorms. she now treaded cautiously through a dimly lit road, humming to chase away the uneasiness that places lacking proper lighting gave off—well, to her, at least. 

     she made another turn only to find a hooded figure, smoking and seeming like they’d prefer if no one disturbed the atmosphere. dabin silenced her humming and perused the figure; their face was hooded in an uncanny, eerie way that sent warning signals saying that she should not come across this person. she clutched the straps of her bag and redirected her tracks, hoping they hadn’t witnessed her presence.

“Favorite movie...that’s really hard. Twilight maybe, though I think it would’ve been better if they’d cast Nam Joo Hyuk instead of Robert Pattison. As far as director’s go I don’t really know anybody except for Michael Bay, so him I guess? But I love romance movies, romance dramas, as if there’s a drama that doesn’t involve romance. Anything warm and fluffy really.”

exhaustion weighs heavy on her shoulders from keeping herself in the practice room for a few hours, so she takes a break to head down to the nearby convenience store to buy a cold drink. her movements are somewhat sluggish when she pays for her drink, mustering the effort to flash the cashier a smile because manners first. upon leaving the store, her drink slips from her loose grip and rolls away from her. so in her pathetic attempt to stop it from going any further, she bumps headfirst into the legs of a stranger. her eyes widen when she recognises them and she hastily gets up, drink still on the ground but forgotten. she bows, but keeps her eyes down-casted in embarrassment. “i’m so sorry about that, sunbaenim.”

setting: late december, 2016 time: 8:47am 

minki had left in such a hurry that he had forgotten to grab his jacket, which is why he was shivering uncontrollably as he made his way down the street, his fingers gripping his phone tightly in his hands. he’d been pondering in his mind who he wanted to call for the longest time, and the same name continuously popped up in his head the more he thought about it.

it was still early, painfully so, and he didn’t want to risk waking the other male up, but he had no idea where else he could turn in a situation like that. who else would be willing to listen to him? without judging him? 

against his better judgment, his fingers unlocked his phone screen with ease, and he scrolled through his contact list until he landed on a familiar name. with a deep breath and a newfound sense of false confidence, he clicked the call symbol and placed the phone against his ear.

it rang once... twice.. three times... 

maybe he was asleep? he should hang up and call again later. or maybe he should just not call anyone and go back to his dorm. he could sneak in unheard, right? his group mates must still be asleep with how early it was. 

during all that inner self reflection, the phone had rang two more times, and suddenly a voice was flooding into his ear. he blinked once, surprised that he had actually answered, before clearing his throat. 

“seongha-hyung? i.. i need help. can i come over?”
