Is there a vampire buried in Lafayette Cemetery?
I’ve driven past the I-25 exit to Lafayette a thousand times and I’ve never given it a second thought. But I will now. Apparently, there might be a vampire buried in this historic Colorado town!
Lafayette was a booming mining town in the late 1800s, attracting fortune seekers from all over the world. One of them, a man named Fodor Glava, (such a badass name) came all the way from Dracula’s hometown… Transylvania.
Mr. Glava died (mysteriously?) in 1918 and was buried in the Lafayette cemetery. A tree has now grown up from where his heart would have been. Some believe that it was planted there somehow, seeded from a stake that might have been driven through his heart.Which is, as everyone knows, the very best way to kill a vampire.
Also, in the summertime, blood-red roses grow along the grave.
