Immortal Technique
Yes you’ve read correctly, the first huge announcement off the second lineup release for our freedom of expression music festival is underground hip hop legend Immortal Technique! Born in Peru, Felipe Andres Coronel spent the majority of his childhood in Harlem New York. Immortal Technique is best known for his sometimes radical lyrics about controversial topics in global politics, but he first gained respect in New York’s hip hop scene by winning state-wide freestyle rap competitions, and earned himself the reputation as one of New York’s most ferocious battle MC’s. He released his first studio album entitled The Revolutionary 1 in 2001, which featured the massive underground track “Dance with the Devil.” This record, and the two that would follow were all released on his private record label Viper.
Make sure to get your tickets to FOE2 here so you don’t miss Immortal Technique and all the other amazing artists performing this year! See you August 3rd-5th!
Alpha Data
By Emma, fastbeatsandbassdrops
Our next featured artist in our countdown to the Freedom of Expression music festival in August is Minneapolis’ James ristvedt, aka Alpha Data. One of glitch hops quickly rising young stars, Alpha Data has already shared the stage with amazing acts such as the disco biscuits, ghostland observatory, paper diamond, tipper, and we here at upstate productions are so excited that he will be joining us at FOE2!
Alpha Data has already seen immense success on beatport with his track Nefertiti which climbed all the way to number one on the glitch hop chart, and was in the top 50 overall tracks on the site when it was released. Make sure to check out Nefertiti, and all of his quality tracks and remixes here before he hits the stage at FOE2, August 3rd-5th!
JELO
By: Kristen Julia (@BiscoAmbassador)
Blogging for Upstate Productions, I read a lot of biographies about artists. However, NONE stand out like reading J E L O’s! This man cares about one thing and one thing only, having fun. Humor and happiness fill all of his social media and music pages and would solely persuade me to buy tickets to the Freedom of Expression Music Fest if I were skeptical.
Resident of Toronto, JELO has been the leader in electronic music there for almost two decades. His beats are fun, fast, and funky and his live performances are always 100% original. He describes his music as magical, hard-hitting, and unique – creating an energy that gives you chills. His style and beats has awarded him “The People’s DJ” in Canada and has led him to remix with musical sensations, including Deadmau5.
Besides the F.O.E Music Fest, JELO is touring all over Canada and the United States in 2012. In past years, JELO has been seen at Ultra, the 420 Festival, and other music gatherings around the world. He he has no intention of stopping soon, so if you don’t know him – now you do.

LAZY RICH
With the recent release of the 2nd annual Freedom of Expression Music Fest’s lineup, it is only customary to take a deeper look into the performers of the three-day long festival. We’re starting with the one and only, Lazy Rich. A UK native, like the best are, Lazy Rich hit the studio only five years ago. With his widespread success, its safe to say Lazy Rich is anything but lazy. Most of Lazy Rich’s success grew in 2011, topping charts on Beatport, TrackItDown, Juno, and TheBuzz. His style quickly gave him a reputable name and has led him to remix and collaborate with musical icons ranging from Lady Gaga to Deadmau5 and my personal favorite, Porter Robinson.
So what is his musical preference? The mind blowing and powerful Electro-House. Considered a forward-thinker in this ever-popular genre, Lazy Rich has become an initiator in ‘complextro’ and has created a unique sound that makes the people go crazy. His tracks have spread like wildfire over the radio, Internet, and even on TV shows and films. All in all, Lazy Rich’s positive reputation has gained him support from big time names like Tiesto, Fedde Le Grande, and many more. Lazy Rich, featured at Ultra Music Festival this year, is scheduled to perform at F.O.E Music Fest and Sunset Music Fest, as well as, internationally throughout 2012. STAY ON TOP OF HIS SOUNDS and catch him at F.O.E by purchasing TICKETS here.

Freedom Of Expression Music Festival
Last year on August 12-14 of 2011 Upstate Productions hosted its inaugural Music Festival called Freedom Of Expression Music Festival or F.O.E. Music Fest. It was set to be held in Pulaski New York. With this being a first year festival Upstate Productions was decided to move it closer to New York City to Sullivan County New York and a town called Barryville. The venue was called Kittatinny Canoe and Campground, right along the Delaware River over looking P.A. and N.J. Upstate Productions chose Kittatinny for its great attractions such as river trips, arcade, pool, paint balling and a dual 300 ft zip-line.
Last year Upstate Productions had head lining artists like Skerrit Bwoy Superstar DJ Keoki and Roots Collider. Freedom Of Expression Music Festival was unlike any other music festival in the Greater Hudson Valley area. With the motto "Feel Free To Be Free", Upstate Productions did not discriminate when it came to the genres of music. From Punk to Ska, Jam to Rap, House to Dubstep it was all there in a 3 day experience to be remembered. With about 700 attendees through the weekend this small local music festival was set for big thing especially two stages, one being Main Stage which was under a huge 120X60 circus tent and River Stage right beside the delaware river. With a light show for the ages and a sound system that would blow your ear drums if the bass was all the way turned up, the vibes at F.O.E. Music Fest. were incredibly peaceful and loving. Electronic Dance Music is on the rise and with the "Ravers" motto P.L.U.R. or Peace Love Unity and Respect Upstate Productions and the F.O.E. Music Fest. team embraced it and really tried to make the festival just that.
No info has been released about F.O.E. Music Fest 2 but stay tuned here to find out more. and Remember to "Feel Free To Be Free" #FOE2
