i've sold 50g xxxmetals dergs before and had them exalted nameless (multiple times surprisingly) so I can kinda understand where they're coming from lol.

revisting my rw ocs again... Beyond (they/them) and their two kids Flint (he/him) and Burn (any pronouns). and my busted up guy 9 Promises (they/them) for scale haha.

some lore under the cut!

Recently heavily revamped Beyond's backstory. All three of them r in one of my savefiles (my gourm run) and Beyond is modified gourm sprite with DMS. BUT... i wanted to give them some lore reasons for looking freakish ahah .... their backstory notes below copied from toyhouse :3

Purposed organism' was created from test tube when Ancient's were still around, as a slugcat 'show breed'. From base slugcat, elongated ears, feathers/wings, shortened muzzle, extended lifespan (~150yrs / 54,750 (assuming a cycle is roughly an earth day long) ) + heightened intelligence (to perform tricks, was also given the mark, but not given a way to communicate BACK to ancients).  

Was raised for show by their ancient owner from age 10-23 (yrs). Came out of the test tube at age 10, did not experience being baby. Show breeds' 'wings' are just for show and were never intended for flight, since this would make them harder to control. 

Has some breathing issues bc of shortened muzzle, and runs out of breath quickly.Beyond was prized for their pearly green-white pelt, long tail and ears, and circular head marking.

Their owner saw them more as a valuable object than as an alive being. Owner kept them on a very regimented diet and schedule which Beyond hated. Beyond has lasting trauma from this, tends to have authority issues, dislikes most phyical contact (except from select individuals under select contexts), stress eats and hoards food and territorial over food.

Later feels a kind of solidarity for the iterators for the ancient's poor treatment and abandonment of them as well.

when they were 23 yrs the mass ascension happened. Owner attempted to ascend with them (w/o proof of scugs/beyond being able to ascend) and Beyond escaped.

Wild populations of slugcats were not as prominent yet....but Beyond struggled to assimilate because of their upbringing (didn't know wild scug communication/language) and differently shaped body. Because of this they traveled alone and figured things out (+ eventually learned common wild-scug communication). Made friends with lizards and eventually the scavenger groups that began to increase in number with the ancient's ascension.

My guy Daejn / Dlollom (they/them) who is haunted and anguished etc etc. So much lore here I could write paragraphs here but i will refrain

text in the golden parts of the image are 4 prayers to the in-universe god Doa! (Doa, god of judgement) who is very central to Daejn/Dlollom's characters.

(Doa is heavily associated with the number four... so that is present many places here too)
