“Hhhheerreee kittykitty. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere kittykitty.” A lone man stood at the entrance of a forest grove, the trees there were tinted a spectacular crimson hue, and the leaves that fell carpeted the floor in golden and red tones. He didn’t venture into the grove but instead stood near its outskirts, hands cupped to his mouth as he called yet again.
“Kitty! We already discussed this last week, it is time to pack up..”
The wind from the coast swayed the branches and disrupted the finely woven webs that created beautiful silvery works of art throughout the grove.
A sigh parted the man’s lips and he perched his hands upon his hips. He really didn’t want to go in there.
“How’s it, Sir Folcard?” An amused voice sounded from behind him and he turned to greet the talasite stare that belonged to his lady. Her gaze sparkled with laughter at his troubles and hinted at her lips as she approached. This alone earned her a mock scowled from him.
“Kitty is being very stubborn today… not a peep. Even tried to lure her out..”
“How troublesome!” She laughed this time, a magic sound that summoned a grin to his own lips. “Let me see if I can help, she has always disliked moving and I think she knows..” She made to move past him and it was automatic that he reached out, protecting her was part of his duty to the Sunshield family. His hand didn’t make contact and she flashed a smile his way.
There was no call, just the passage of time with the noblewoman invading the sanctuary of the red forest, and just when he thought she’d vanish past the silvery webs - she paused and turned back. Failure? No.
Behind her, a shower of leaves drew Folcard’s gaze upwards to the long spindly legs that emerged from the leaf hidden bough. She had been in the trees? Clever girl.
When Kitty's legs found land, she moved forward with careful steps so not to overcome the raven-haired woman that strolled before her. Her size equaled to a carriage he'd guess, perhaps larger. As they got closer he could hear the soft clicking the spider made and the answering hum from his lady.
"Kitty! You were watching me the whole time." He accused, laughing up at the creature.
"She was indeed." Rosemarri chuckled, moving past him with the spider in her wake and the Knight to bring up the rear.
"Wow.." He huffed, his leather clad hand giving her backside a patpat. One down.
