Hey y'all!
I have found Something Very Useful for everyone bothered by stabby loose scissors in bags.
I carefully moved them as little as possible each step to keep it as clear as I could how they work.
Folding Scissors!
They are sharp, well aligned, and work quite well. The sharp blades are encased on both sides by smooth blunt steel when folded, with the blunt steel sticking out beyond the blade on the sides.
Pull them apart, rotate on the hinge, Scissor! Rotate back to "straight", push together, Folded! I have been extra cautious pushing so far as I get used to it, but the blades ARE quite well encased before it's tucked into the handle-loops so it's been Fine.
I found them in a camping section at the hardware store! With firestarters and mosquito nets and campfire-roasting skewers and such.
Not as pretty as my fav sewing scissors, but MUCH better for tossing in a project bag! No sheath/case needed, no accidental stabs or cuts!
