I always forget about follow caps

Tumblr: 5,000

Tiktok: 10,000

Other sites that I don't really use anymore like Reddit and Twitter/X seem so... whatever.

Twitter/X: 5,000

Reddit has a follow people function which is 2,000 but you can follow every subreddit on the site no problem.

You can also follow a maximum of 2,000 channels on Youtube. Same for Twitch. I remember when this was a lot lower.

You can have 400 friends on Old School RuneScape if your a member and 200 if your f2p.

My problem is there is always a lot of cool and interesting people who follow my interests as well. I feel like limiting people to a cap is reductive. I didn't know until I tried to follow people on desktop.

Dear Tumblr

I just realized that I have hit the 5000 Tumblr blog follow limit. I’ve come to believe that it’s not enough, with all the thousands more, perhaps even millions of artists, writers, fanblogs, etc. that I (and many other users) have to follow.

Please remove the follow limit.

Petition on extending Taylor Swift’s follow limit

According to the rules of Tumblr an account can only follow 5000 blogs before the account hits a follow limit. Taylor Swift is a prominent member of Tumblr. She has been using the website since 2014 to interact with her fans by following them. However, she told her fans today that she has hit the follow limit and therefore can’t follow any more fans. We know for a fact that Taylor Swift is devastated that she can’t follow and interact with more fans since she has such a huge fan base. That is why we, fans of Taylor Swift present this petition requesting that Tumblr extend Taylor Swift’s follow limit from 5000 to 15000. This way Taylor Swift can keep following more fans and interact with the ones who are on Tumblr because of her.

Since Taylor hit her follow limit, is she just going to stop following people? Or unfollow people to follow new people? Or are they going to make an exception bc she TAYLOR FREAKING SWIFT? Like these are important questions.

That means Taylor has literally followed at least 5000 of us dedicated fans and is still trying to follow more. This woman is insane but in a terribly wonderful way.
