I read a friend’s story and just had to paint one of her characters.
I’ve hit one of those landmark follower numbers, so I thought I’d keep to Tumblr tradition and host a giveaway for a digital painting of the OC of your choice! I never do commissions any more (due to the time involved) so this is a rare opportunity.
(Also, if you do happen to like my work, these and other doodles are posted on my art blog @artbyfont).
There will be two winners:
First Place: Full-body painting with minimal background Second Place: Bust with solid background
Portrait rules:
Must be an OC, but it can be from any fandom or a completely original character.
Humanoids only - no aliens, furries, or robots (I just can’t draw them). However, pointed ears, unusual skin color like blue or purple, or horns are okay.
Single character only - no couples, pairs, or families.
Provide detailed descriptions or references - screencaps and/or faceclaims are ideal, but I will work with written descriptions as well.
PLEASE BE PATIENT - I am a slow artist, and it may take weeks for me to complete. I will send sketches and partials for review and feedback throughout the process.
No NSFW. Some nudity ok, up to my discretion.
Giveaway rules:
No giveaway blogs.
You must be following me. New followers are okay, but please don’t be a jerk and unfollow after the giveaway.
Likes and reblogs both count, but please don’t spam your followers.
Giveaway ends January 1st, 2018 at 12pm noon CST. I will contact the winners via message at that time and exchange more details.
It’s a bit late because life got in the way, but here’s my drawing for the Buckynat Week Mini Bang!
I had the great opportunity to create this piece based on @bucksnatalia‘s adorable fic!
As Time Goes By

SHIELD is once again messing with things it shouldn’t be, and this time, it gets Natasha sucked back into the 1940s.
At least her cute future boyfriend is there to show her around?
Today’s quick stress-relief doodle, since everything is Nat these days and I need to practice profiles.
The third Marvel Tarot Card, inspired by the Dragon Age Inquisition tarot deck!
For Kate Bishop, I chose The Fool to represent her time in LA during the Aja/Fraction run of Hawkeye. (Yes, it’s supposed to be an orchid instead of a rose).
From BiddyTarot:
The Fool Tarot card is a card of potential, new beginnings and innocence. This Tarot card shows the highest potential for your life, reaching a state of renewal and new beginnings, where each day is an adventure and each moment is lived to the fullest. The Fool card represents the beginning of all creativity and a desire to accomplish new goals (or to, at least, start the process of working towards those goals). The Fool indicates that anything can happen and the opportunities are just waiting to be taken advantage of.
The Fool is shown at the beginning of his journey with unlimited potential ... He is facing north-west, the direction of the unknown. He is looking upwards, toward the sky, or Spirit. He is about to step off a cliff into the material world but is he prepared? He has all the tools and resources he needs in the bag on his staff but he has not opened the bag yet. The white rose in his left hand represents purity and innocence. He has a guardian in the little white dog who will protect him throughout his journey but who will also push him to learn the lessons the Fool came here to learn.
Previous Cards:
Natasha Romanoff, Ace of Swords
Bucky Barnes, Knight of Swords
Today's drawing practice - metal! Metals are SO HARD to draw, yeesh.
The second practice piece I did today - hand sketches! Used my left hand as reference and tried some poses/angles that give me trouble.
Working on a series of portraits... Characters from my WIP novel wearing outfits in the colors of their pride flags. From top to bottom: Cirelle - moody princess Lydia - loyal bff and bodyguard Issen - chill, slightly smug uncle-type
