Where the journey is as enjoyable as the destination
Orange F.O.O.D Week has released the eagerly awaited itinerary of the annual Orange F.O.O.D Train. This journey of discovery is one of the highlights of F.O.O.D Week, which is set to start on Friday the 4th April.
The yearly F.O.O.D pilgrimage sees food and wine devotees board their carriages at Sydney’s Central Station on the morning of 11th April. Guests are greeted by your hosts, Sheelagh Tancred and Amanda Walker, with Printhie Wine’s Ruth Swift.
As the carriages wind their way over the ever-changing scape of the Blue Mountains, the resilience, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of the Orange region’s farmers is ‘plated up’ and shared. As the train emerges over the mountains into the Central Ranges, a short stop at Lithgow welcomes Masterchef Kate Bracks to the carriage for morning tea.
All aboard the FOOD journey
They say it’s not about the destination but how you get there. However, in the case of F.O.O.D Week in Orange this April, the entire journey is recommended, and the F.O.OD Train is the perfect way to travel.
The shires of Orange, Cabonne and Blayney are renowned for their food and wine, and each year F.O.O.D. Week (Food Of Orange District) supports local produce and 'fine food' with an annual event held over 10 days in April showcasing the producers, their products, the local chefs and restaurants, and other enterprises that provide the region with its great reputation.
